It was late into 2020; Beth was finishing out her junior year at the University of Cincinnati and Ryan was preparing to graduate from the University of Dayton. While 50 miles apart in the great state of Ohio, both Beth and Ryan were searching for meaningful connections and downloaded the dating app Bumble. With an ever-growing amount of these apps and the myriad of participants who lurked around these platforms, the odds were against them finding one another. Eventually they came across each other’s profiles and became a match. Now, if you didn’t know, Bumble requires women to send the first message, and this is where Beth put herself on a pedestal. On Ryan’s profile, he had posted a photo from Halloween of him costumed as the beloved character Waluigi. This inspired Beth to send her initial message of “WAH”, quoting the character’s iconic catchphrase. It was a done deal.&nbsp; Their first date in Cincinnati did not go as planned, but that did not stop them from having an instant spark over watching ‘Gone Girl’ and munching on some good take-out fried rice. Over the next couple months, they had many dates between Dayton and Cincinnati and quickly became best friends, excited to share life’s journey together. The profoundness of the circumstances surrounding us meeting each other may be a little exaggerated but the love coursing through it is not.
