Our Wedding

"The world is so unpredictable. Things happen suddenly, unpredictably. We want to feel we are in control of our own existence. In some ways we are, in some ways we are not. We are ruled by the forces of chance and coincidence." - Paul Auster

"When a person meets the half that is his very own something wonderful happens. The two are struck from their senses by love, by a sense of belonging to one another, and by desire, and they don't want to be seperated from one another not even for a moment. These are the people who finish out their lives together and still cannot say what it is they want from one another. " - Aristophanes

Q & A

For $70 each way, Alaska bus company runs a daily shuttle from Anchorage to Homer. If enough people are interested, we could hire a private charter each way and the price would go down further.... let us know!

ADVENTURES

Homer is known for some of the best Halibut fishing in the world. If you want to catch a big one, or even just get out on the water, call North Country Halibut Charters and ask for Katherine Brennan.

The Salty Dawg Saloon was a cabin 157 years ago -- and now it's a rather eccentric local bar. Take a dollar bill to write a note on and tape to the wall (or ceiling). Smoking is still legal in certain bars in Homer.

If you have any interest in the numerous hikes, camping spots, or kayak routes that the breathtaking Kachemak Bay State Park offers -- check out Mako's Water Taxi in the transportation section for all of your water taxi needs.

Kachemak Bay State Park

If you want to be dropped off at one location in Kachemak Bay State Park and picked up at another for a hike or a paddle -- call Mako's. They'll take you where you want to go -- and pick you up, too. ;) If you want to get out there but don't quite know what -- they have a ton of information and suggestions to help you have an unforgettable experience. Mako's will rent Kayaks, too. Their taxi schedule is always fluctuating, so the more notice they have of your plans -- the better.

Mako's Water Taxi

Amazing restaurant across the bay -- make reservations in advance for a tour on the Danny J, either early for a lunch sailing or afternoon for a dinner. ;) You will not regret this.
