A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this bird sanctuary is home to over 230 species of birds, including migratory birds from Siberia, Europe, and Central Asia. Enjoy a nature walk or birdwatching tour to spot diverse avian species.
The Park can be visited any time of the year, as it is open throughout the year. August to November is the best time to visit it to spot the resident breeding birds, while October to February is when you can spot a variety of migrant birds.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal is a stunning white marble mausoleum built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal.
Taj Mahal is located in the city of Agra which is about 240 km (150 miles) from Bharatpur. Allow at least half a day to explore.
Another UNESCO World Heritage Site, this massive red sandstone fort houses many beautiful Mughal-era palaces, halls, and mosques.
This deserted Mughal city was built by Akbar in the late 16th century and features impressive palaces, mosques, and other structures. Some key monuments here are:
Buland Darwaza: This towering gateway is the main entrance to Fatehpur Sikri and is known for its intricate carvings and stunning architecture.
Jama Masjid: This large mosque is one of the most prominent structures in Fatehpur Sikri and features beautiful Mughal-style architecture.
This is the birthplace of Lord Krishna. The most important temple in Mathura is the Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple, believed to be the exact spot where Krishna was born. Other notable temples include the Dwarkadhish Temple, Govind Dev Temple, and the Radha Raman Temple.
