Mackinac Island is only a 50 min drive from Gaylord and a 20 min ferry ride to the island. It's one of the most popular tourist destinations in America. This Island is a must see! It's a 20 min ferry ride from Mackinaw City. Automobiles are outlawed, so rent a bike or catch the horse drawn carriage taxis. Activities include the butterfly house, the fort, the Mission Inn, the Pink Pony restaurant, and more. Stay at the Chippewa Hotel for a blast from the past.
The Bride and Groom had never experienced the island before. After many looks of disbelief from the locals, they decided to book a 2day, 1 night stay on the island! The fort and butterfly house are their favorite experiences!
