We love your children, but due to space restrictions we cannot accommodate guests under 18 on our wedding day. We appreciate your understanding and are happy to help recommend local babysitting services.
Is there a dress code?
No, but cocktail attire is preferred (cocktail dress/nice pantsuit/suit/sports coat and pants). Sometimes described as "dressy but not too dressy;" you can leave your tux at home!
Can I RSVP online?
Yes! You can RSVP through our wedding website or email Blakely at blakelylloyd1@gmail.com. RSVPs are due by November 1, 2024!
Will the ceremony/reception be indoors?
The ceremony will be indoors, the cocktail hour will be partially indoors (an outdoor patio will be available for guests, as well as an enclosed bar area), and the reception will be indoors.
I'm flying in, what's the best way to get to Birmingham?
For our (way) out-of-town guests, you can fly into Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport. The airport is a 10-15 minute drive/Uber ride from downtown (where the wedding will be). It's a smaller airport, so it may be difficult to find a direct flight (we often connect to Birmingham through Atlanta, Charlotte, or Philadelphia). It's a bit of a drive, but you can also fly into Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson airport. Odds of a direct flight are much higher here! Atlanta is approximately 2.5 hours from Birmingham. There are many car rental services at Atlanta and there is also a shuttle service called Groome Transportation which makes frequent trips between Atlanta and Birmingham (you will need to reserve a seat ahead of time).
Will there be a hotel room block?
Yes! We have room blocks at the Elyton Hotel and Fairfield Inn Downtown (1918 1st Avenue North, Birmingham, AL). Blocks close 11/27!
Will the ceremony and reception be at the same location?
Yes! Both the ceremony and reception will be at the Thomas Jefferson Tower in Birmingham, Alabama (1623 2nd Avenue North, Birmingham, Alabama). The event space is located on the second floor (there are stairs and an elevator in the lobby) and there will be signage to direct you.
Will there be parking available at TJ Tower?
We will have a shuttle bus running from the Elyton and Fairfield Inn. There is street parking and several paid lots close to TJ Tower. If you are walking from the Elyton Hotel or Fairfield Inn Downton (about a 5 minute walk), we do recommend walking in groups.
