Muskoka Lakes is one of our favourite places to visit in the winter! They have an ice skating trail around a frozen cranberry bog when it's cold enough, an adorable little gift shop, and delicious wine, cider, and food to try! They also have snowshoe trails, hiking trails, fire pits, and several fun tours and activities like a fondue and wine tasting!

Arrowhead Provincial Park

Canoes, kayaks, snowshoes, and cross country skis are available for rent. During the winter, Arrowhead has a 1.3 km skating trail winding through the trees!

Algonquin Provincial Park

If you are okay with a bit of a drive (1 hr 20 mins) then we highly recommend checking out Algonquin! Algonquin is the oldest provincial park in Canada (established in 1893) and offers beautiful views of maple hills, rocky ridges, and thousands of lakes. 7,635 square kilometers of forests, bogs, lakes, and rivers. Algonquin is known for its paddling routes so if the weather cooperates, go rent a canoe and take a paddle around some raw Ontario wilderness!
