Our story starts with a New Year's Eve unlike any other - the very last night of a crazy 2020.

Sandra was at a party that wasn't quite what she hoped for. By 9 pm, she decided to leave, but after two hours of searching for a ride, she was stuck. Meanwhile, Brandon was finishing up his late shift at work, with no plans for the New Year. He called his brother Toby to see if he could join the Barnard family celebration. That's where things get interesting.

Lauren, Toby's fiancée and Sandra's host sister, agreed to let Brandon crash the party, but on one condition: he had to bring Sandra home with him. So, within 30 minutes, Brandon arrived to whisk Sandra away from the unfulfilling party and together with the Barnard family celebrated the incoming 2021.

January flew by, and Sandra had to return to El Paso to continue her last academic year. But their connection was strong. Brandon visited Sandra in Texas in March, and that's when they realized the feelings they has for each other were something special.

After graduation, Sandra moved to Michigan to be closer to Brandon. They were inseparable ever since. They moved in together in October 2021, traveled across Michigan in 2022, had an amazing trip to Poland in August 2023, and even adopted their pup, Sheriff, in December 2023.

Their next adventure? A road trip through Montana in May 2024. And in the most beautiful setting - the middle of Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park - Brandon asked the big question. Without a doubt, Sandra said yes!
