Bree and Spencer met in 2021 while they both were working at Cayuga Medical Center, where their friendship bloomed. Bree always was enamored by Spencer and thought he was goofy and kind. She always felt like there was something special about him, and though they didn’t see each other often, when they did the conversation and laughs flowed effortlessly. Spencer says he always thought Bree had a glow in her eyes, he too thought she was someone special. Though at the time, neither of them knew just what the future would hold. As time went on, they would begin a wonderful friendship, helping each other through personal struggles, and always being a shoulder to lean on, with open ears. In June 2022, Bree and Spencer had become best friends, spending as much of their free time together as possible…even if it meant sitting in the car for 4 hours after work, jumping from one ADHD conversation to the next. They became instantly inseparable. Finally, after what seemed like so long, Spencer asked Bree out on their first (camping) date. After a night of setting up camp, building fires and eating way too burnt corn and potatoes, they packed up and got ready to go swimming the next morning. Of course, in true Bree fashion, she crashed her car, with Spencer a half mile ahead in his own car. He stopped sped back and immediately came to her aid. After a long embrace, they suddenly realized just how important they were to each other. Spencer decided to make the most of a bad day and take Bree on another date to Rabbit Run, to try and cheer her up. They sat by the water, Spencer made food over a camping burner, and found lots of things that definitely weren’t rocks. That day, Bree saw just how kind and thoughtful Spencer is. It’s safe to say she fell in love with his character and his ability to always see the light in any situation. Now, Bree and Spencer were both a little skeptical when in came to matters of the heart. They tried to pass themselves off as casual friends, saying maybe they would date, if it felt right. They even wanted to make things complicated and set a date and time that would be closest to being between two days, where if things were going well, they would make the relationship official. Fast forward ONE week, to Grassroots 2022, and Spencer and Bree were partnered up ready to go into full festival mode (one of their all time favorite things). As they hung out at their campsite, Bree met all of Spencer’s friends and everyone clicked right away. When Spencer’s parents came by, Sue joked, “Is she your girlfriend yet?!” To which Spencer and Bree replied, “We’re taking things slow!!” Now…fast forward a few hours that day, July 22nd, 2022…the day of a double rainbow, meteor shower, and a major celestial event (the visibility of the Pleiades star cluster). Over a snack of Silo’s Glutenous to the Maximus, Bree looked at Spencer and said “I don’t want to wait to be your girlfriend anymore, I want to be your girlfriend now!” Spencer smiled and replied, “Do you want to be my girlfriend?” Bree smiled and of course accepted his offer. Needless to say, the universe was definitely sending signs of support of this union. Spencer and Spencer the dog have become inextricably bonded through Spencerness and the cats have deemed Spencer the human a great spot to lay down (especially on his head)! Together, they adopted a kitty named Ollie and rescued and rehabbed a kitty named Cheese! They have traveled across the country and attended many more festivals in the years they have been together. Spencer proposed on a hillside overlooking the live music Mushroom Stage at The Peach Music Festival in July 2023. As Spencer prepared to get down on one knee, he told Bree he dropped something and asked her to stand up so he could look for it. Bree turned around to help him look, and as she turned back, she saw Spencer down on his knee and accepted his proposal immediately. Josh Palmer (groomsmen) was there with them and was taken by surprise because Spencer didn't tell him his plan! It was a true Bree and Spencer moment, just going on what feels right! Bree and Spencer are so excited for what their combined future holds, their nursing degrees, a house, a kid, and more pets! Bree and Spencer are so grateful for the people who love and support them through their relationship and are beyond psyched to TIE! THE! KNOT!
