Our Wedding

Brent and Lauren met while working at Midtown Foods in Winona, Minnesota. Lauren was going to school at Winona State University, while Brent was taking a break from school and moved back home. Brent asked Lauren out in the summer of 2010, but Lauren told him no so that she could hang out with her friends. It was only once school started back up when she was talking to one of their good friends Kendra, who suggested she start hanging out with Brent. Weeks of flirting passed as Brent would come and help out at Lauren's checkout line and bag all of her customers groceries and they would text each other outside of work. Finally, Lauren suggested that they hang out one night, and they went and played darts and drank Captain &amp; Cokes at the local bar, Zaza's. She got the nerve to finally ask him to be her boyfriend the next night, and they have been inseparable ever since.In July 2015, Brent and Lauren went up to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in northern Minnesota for a 5 day, 4 night camping excursion. Lauren had suspicions that something was going to happen, but by the last full day of their trip, had really given up hope. The morning of their last full day, Brent was being very affectionate (which as most everyone knows, is not very like Brent) but Lauren didn't think anything of it. Brent suggested that they go fishing, so Lauren went and started getting everything to put in the canoe. Brent told Lauren that she was "his biggest catch", when Lauren remembered that she had to go get the lifejackets off the clothesline. When she came back, Brent told that "I have loved every minute of the adventure we have been on, but I'd like it if you went on a bigger adventure with me," and finally got down on one knee. Lauren of course, started crying and fell to her knees and said yes.Then they went fishing.

Josh and Brent have been friends for 7 years and they talk on the phone every day, mostly about poker. Brent stood up in Josh's wedding and considers Josh to be his best friend. They love talking about playing poker and the Minnesota Wild. Josh is getting his nursing degree and is married to his wonderful wife, Aubrey, and they have an adorable son named Grayson.

Jackie and Lauren have been friends ever since they were 12 years old when Lauren moved to Grafton and were both actively involved with Student Council and Musicals all throughout their middle school and high school. Jackie and Lauren have always been there for each other. Jackie attended St. Mary's University in Winona, MN where she got her BA in Biology Pre-Physical Therapy and is currently attending Concordia University where she is learning to become a Physical Therapist and will be graduating on May 14, 2016.

Kelly is Brent's one and only sister, but she has become a sister to Lauren as well. Kelly also worked at Midtown Foods with both Brent and Lauren and attended UW-La Crosse, where she was on the track team. Kelly now lives in Minneapolis and works at Convey Compliance Systems, Inc.

Zach is known mostly by his last name Karbula, and has been friends with Brent for 6 years. Karbula worked in the produce section at Midtown foods with Brent and Lauren, and was even roommates with Brent in Winona. Zach is currently living in La Crosse as a liquor distributor, and has a german shepherd named Rex.

Jackie was one of Lauren's very first friends when she moved to Grafton, and they have been friends ever since. Jackie and Lauren have been through many different adventures together, from camping to traveling to Germany together, and have made so many good memories. Jackie recently got her Masters in Nursing, and will be looking for a job working with kids.

Matt and Brent went to school in Ely, MN together, and oddly enough went to high school with Lauren. When Brent moved to Wisconsin, he found Matt and now they go hunting and fishing together. Matt has his own landscaping business and is outdoors constantly.

Brent and Lauren would not be getting married if it weren't for Kendra. She is the mastermind behind their getting together, so please thank her when you see her. Kendra attended Winona State when Lauren was there, and even worked at Midtown as well. Kendra lives in Minneapolis, where she coordinates events for an up and coming brewery.

Jaime and Lauren have been friends since they could walk, and lived down the road from each other for most of their childhood. Their mothers taught math together, and Lauren and Jaime had an early love for teaching, which Jaime pursued as a career and now teaches at the same school that their moms taught at (Slinger Middle School). Jaime and Lauren have gone on many trips together, and have had countless sleepovers, making them best friends since the beginning.

Jon and Brent have been friends since elementary school, and played football together in middle school and high school. Both Brent and Jon really enjoy hunting and fishing and would go duck hunting together. Jon lives in Iowa with his beautiful wife Blaire and their sweet daughter, Natalie.
