Brianna grew up on the west side of Michigan in Grand Haven, while Cameron spent most of his life on the east side of the state in the Brighton area. Fate (and a little bit of online dating magic) brought them together in January 2024, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Their connection was instant, rooted in a shared passion for empowering youth and being outdoors. For Brianna that meant summer camps, and for Cameron it was coaching soccer. Their first date? Booyah’s in Muskegon. Brianna teases Cameron that it’s the least romantic place imaginable, but it ended up being the perfect start to their story.
After that first date, they were inseparable. Spending early mornings watching the Premier League, taking Scout to the beach, hiking, exploring Grand Rapids, cheering at Cameron’s soccer games, and spending time with friends, they were building a life together. Scout decided early on that Cameron was the father figure he’d always wanted and this sealed Cameron's place in Brianna’s heart.
Brianna’s job as a camp director is unique. It requires moving into a cabin and working long, demanding hours every summer. Their first summer together, Brianna worried about moving to camp without Cameron. His response was simple: “I’ll just come with you.” He quit his job, applied to work at camp, and spent the summer living, working, and fully immersing himself in Brianna’s world. (Cameron insists it wasn’t much of a sacrifice — he loves camp almost as much as Brianna does now.)
Cameron dove into his dream career coaching and serving as Assistant Director at a local sports facility, while Brianna continued at camp. They are happily settled in Norton Shores, spending their falls and winters at soccer fields and their springs and summers at camp.
Brianna and Cameron have learned that home isn’t a place, it’s each other. Even the mundane feels like an adventure when they’re together. They have also found the greatest gift in each other's families. Together they dream of traveling the world, snorkeling in clear waters, touring soccer stadiums, buying a house, spending every summer at camp, welcoming more dogs, and eventually raising a few kids of their own.
