We absolutely love the Hudson Valley, especially after our four years in Poughkeepsie. We hope you can make some time to enjoy some of our most favorite places!
Rosticceria Rossi & Sons: You absolutely must check out Rossi's. There are two locations (Original is on Clover Street in Poughkeepsie, and newer is on Eastdale Avenue). Truthfully every item on the menu is incredible. Come hungry!
Our recommendation: Rob: the number 4 and Brianne: creates her own sandwich but it must have their sundried tomatoes!
Lola's Cafe: A quaint cafe with incredible sandwiches and right near the Walking Bridge!
Our recommendation: Brianne: the chipotle turkey!
Mill House Brewing Company: We spent our first Valentine's day here in 2015 and have absolutely loved coming back to Millhouse. They truly have everything and their crafted beer is a must have.
Our recommendation: Rob: Hopthamology (to drink) and Truffle Short Rib Gnocchi, Brianne: a flight to try a little bit of everything and any of the pizzas or Honey Butter Chicken and Biscuit sando
Palace Diner: Nestled just steps from Marist campus, Palace is a place where we (and many friends) came for late night eats or post theatre performances. You can't go wrong with Palace.
Our recommendation: Rob: Philly Cheesesteak and a coffee (of course), Brianne: Red Fox Wrap with curly fries
Schatzi's Pub and Bier Garden: Great dive biergarden in the heart of Poughkeepsie. Contrary to popular belief, Rob has never been here, but this was an all-time favorite for Brianne and her college roommates.
Our recommendation: Brianne: the Schatzi burger - it's AMAZING.
Marist College: Check out our favorite place on earth. We are so grateful for Marist for giving us one another and the greatest friends on earth. If you're in the area, visit the beautiful campus on the Hudson. If you're lucky enough, perhaps you can convince Brianne to come out of retirement to give you a campus tour.
Our recommendation: Rob & Brianne: bring your Rossi's down to the private riverfront at Marist.
Walkway Over the Hudson: If you plan to stop at Lola's, visit the Walkway Over the Hudson before or after. You can walk total about 1.25 miles across to the other side. A beautiful way to see the Hudson and the surrounding area.
Culinary Institute of America (CIA): If you stay at the Bellefield Inn, you'll be directly across from the CIA. If you have time, their restaurants are phenomenal! It's a beautiful quaint campus.
Our recommendation: Brianne, Apple Pie Bakery for a quick serve. Rob & Brianne, the American Restaurant - fun fact: Rob brought Brianne to this restaurant for their one-month anniversary!
