What's the best way to get into Michigan?
Flying into Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) will be your best bet. Unfortunately, the airport is on the southwest side of town so you will have about an hour drive to the Cambria. You can Uber, rent a car, use metro car, etc., from the airport. Another option would be to take the Amtrak. There are several stops in the Detroit area you can get off at and then hail a ride from there.
How long should I plan to be in Michigan?
We want you here as long as you can be! For guests who are coming from out of town, we would suggest getting in Friday afternoon/night and staying through Sunday morning. We don't want anyone to be rushed or stressed on the wedding day. If you want to stay longer, feel free to book extra days at the hotel or reach out to us for other suggestions!
Are kids allowed?
While we love your kids, we are asking that no one under the age of 21 attend unless they are specifically invited.
Do I have a plus one?
If you did not specifically receive a plus one on your invitation, you do not have an extra seat at the wedding. We understand relationship statuses can change though! If you didn't receive one and would like to add another person, just let us know and we will see what we can do. If it's a tinder date you met two weeks ago, the answer is no.
What should I do during my downtime?
Check out our "Things to do" tab for some ideas! Fall is the best time to visit Michigan. There's a lot of outdoorsy things to do during early October. For those looking at more of a city scene, check out Royal Oak or Birmingham. Both have great downtowns with a lot to do.
What's the timeline of the wedding?
Ceremony @ 2pm.
Cocktail hour @ 5pm.
Reception @ 6pm.
Check out the home tab for more details.
What is "wedding casual" attire?
We are pretty laid back about what you wear, and would like everyone to be comfortable, however it's still a wedding! Ladies, think cocktail dress, jumpsuit, etc. Gents, please wear slack, button down & sport coats. Keep in mind it will be October so double check the weather before you leave the house.
When should I arrive to the Ceremony & Reception?
For the ceremony please be there 10 minutes before 2pm. It is a smaller chapel so if you would like premium seating you will likely have to get there earlier. For the reception be there before 5:45 at the latest to get situated & seated.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony is indoors. The reception is also indoors, however it has several outdoor spaces to venture too. We suggest wearing something that is comfortable indoors and then additional layers if you like to explore.
Colors to avoid wearing?
1. Don't be that person... We are all thinking it, I'll say it. White.
2. The wedding colors are blue & rust, with green accents. The Bridal party will be wearing rust colored dresses and the Groomsmen will be wearing navy suits with rust colored ties. These are very common colors and we absolutely do not mind if you wear them.
What's the food situation?
Don't worry, Paul is on top of this. Come with an appetite! Cocktail hour will feature Hors d'Oeuvres. Dinner is buffet style with all of the dietary restrictions accounted for. There will also be a marquee late night snack provided by order of the Bride.
Is there an open bar?
We couldn't host a partially Irish wedding without one! Bar is open for all drinks listed. There will be signature cocktails, wine, beer & mixed drinks. Bring cash if you'd like something beyond that menu. Also, the bartenders will have tip jars out if you feel their service is exemplary.
Can I request songs?
You can try if you'd like! Be warned that we have told the DJ to accept any song request money as a tip and not to play the tune. There will also be no Karaoke unless requested by the bride. Sorry Drew.
Registry? Gift Table?
First and foremost, we do not want anyone to feel obligated to give us a gift! Getting married and celebrating with our loved ones is all we could ask for. With that being said, if you are kind enough to get us a gift we have an online registry on the website. There will also be a gift table at the reception however there won't be a ton of space, so we would prefer that you send gifts to us directly to save room.
How & When to RSVP?
When you receive your formal invitation, you can RSVP by responding in the mail or on the website right here! Navigate to the RSVP tab and fill out your information. If you run into hiccups just reach out to us.
Is there's changes, how will I hear about them?
If there's any unexpected changes, we will disseminate information via emails used to RSVP & word of mouth.
