Houston's the fourth largest city in the nation, which means that there are a ton of things to do and see! Below are some recommendations on restaurants and activities, including some of Craig and Bridgett's favorites.
The Original Ninfa's on Navigation (Ninfa's on Nav) is one of the best Mexican restaurants in the city, and is considered by many to be a Houston institution. Located just east of downtown, it should be at the top of the list for anyone visiting Houston from out of town!
For anyone looking for an elite breakfast on Sunday morning following the wedding, look no further than The Breakfast Klub. Widely considered to be the main originator & driver of the rapid popularization of "Chicken and Waffles," the Breakfast Klub is another Houston institution that offers incredible breakfast options. Just be ready to wait in line, The Breakfast Klub and their awesome food certainly isn't a secret!
Whether you pronounce it "Poppa's," like Craig, or "p-Ahpa's," like Bridgett, or are partial to the Westheimer location vs the Downtown location, there's no controversy about the quality of this restaurant. Pappa's is widely considered to be the best steakhouse in the largest city in a state known for its cattle industry, and you won't hear any argument from Craig or Bridgett. If you're looking to treat yourself to a nice dinner with incredible steak, seafood, and drinks, there's literally only one place that Craig and Bridgett would ever sent you- Pappa's Bros. Steakhouse.
Texas is THE Barbecue state, regardless of the baseless chatter you hear from other cities and states, and Houston has a litany of incredible BBQ spots- The Pit Room, Pinkerton's, Pizzitola's, and Pappa's BBQ all deserve a mention. However, if you're looking for BBQ in Clutch City, head to Truth BBQ first. I've got no other advice for you here: if you want the best barbecue in the city, go to Truth.
Located just north of Downtown, Saint Arnold Brewing Company is one of Bridgett & Craig's favorite spots, and Houston's premier brewery (Though Craig is partial to Karbach Brewing as they make his favorite beer- Love Street). All of their beers are fantastic, and they have a great food menu as well. The view of downtown is one of the best in the city, and it's a great place to spend an hour or two. You can also pair a trip to Saint Arnolds with a visit to Meow Wolf, as they're right next door to each other!
For those who haven't been to a Meow Wolf location before, I'm not even going to try to describe it, because I don't think I can. The best comparison I can make is: "An interactive art museum maze that has a story that takes you into another dimension." Open a refrigerator door that takes you into a new room, see incredible interactive art that's incomprehensibly detailed, and try to figure out how anyone could even think of this. Fun Fact: Craig's great uncle is Meow Wolf's Executive Producer, and is rumored to be the "Wolf" in Meow Wolf (his last name is Wolfley"), but he'd recommend it just as highly if that wasn't the case.
Craig and Bridgett absolutely loved this place, and can't recommend it highly enough. If you go, be sure to try and find the hidden bar and restaurant that's located inside the exhibit! Then, head across the street to Saint Arnold to have a beer and try to comprehend what you just experienced.
POST Houston was formerly the city's main postal headquarters, which was recently reopened as a large indoor shopping and dining experience with the best rooftop garden in the city! Entry is free, and it's a great place to walk around, grab a bite, and enjoy Houston's skyline!
One of Houston's best parks, right in the heart of downtown. Enjoy live music, the pond, and the ample green space in stark juxtaposition of the bustling city around it. This is where Craig proposed to Bridgett!
The Houston Museum of Natural Science is the centerpiece of Houston's Museum District, and a great place to spend a few hours! Most of Houston's Museums are within walking distance of the Museum of Natural Science, and they're all worth a trip.
Buffalo Bayou is one of the city's most beautiful parks, and a great place to take a walk or run. Taking a walk along the bayou and enjoying the beautiful view of the city is one of Craig and Bridgett's favorite weekend activities- you'll see why if you check it out!
The Aquarium is a fun place to spend the afternoon. Located right downtown near POST Houston, it boasts some of the most beautiful sea-life in the world, as well as the famous Ferris Wheel!
