We have set up a block of rooms at the Hampton Inn &amp; suites. Click the button at the bottom of this page to book the room block! We are currently working with the hotel to continuously add more rooms to the hotel block as the rooms fill up. There are unfortunately no ubers/lyfts out in Hood River, so if you don't plan on driving yourself/getting a ride with a friend the night of the reception, and you plan on using our provided transportation, please keep in mind walking distance near one of the two transportation dropoff locations! Transportation to the receptionTransportation will be provided to get to the reception, departing from Hampton Inn and a central lot in Hood River to accommodate guests staying elsewhere. When you RSVP, make sure to RSVP for transportation if you plan on not driving, and you will be assigned a bus! Transportation from the receptionOn the way back from the reception, the bus will make two stops. One stop downtown Hood River at the Whiskey Tango, and then Hampton Inn for folks staying downtown. Whiskey Tango is a central area to other hotels and Airbnb options nearby if you've decided to book either at a different hotel or an Airbnb! If you are not seeing a room in the block currently available, or don't see a room in the block that suits your needs, we suggest to: - Check if there are any other rooms at the Hampton Inn that are not apart of the block- Book an Airbnb or VRBO- Check if there are any available hotel rooms at any of the other hotels nearby *Again keep in mind walking distance from one of the two dropoff locations if you're not driving! We wanted everyone to get a taste of our lives in the PNW, which is why we picked Hood River! We spend a ton of time here and are happy to recommend anything specific if you are looking for something but please see below for some activities!

Hikes/Viewpoints: 

<a href="https://stateparks.oregon.gov/index.cfm?do=park.profile&amp;parkId=108" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Vista House at Crown Point</a>:Perched atop Crown Point, Vista House provides a panoramic view of the Columbia River Gorge. It's a great spot for photos and taking in the scenery. <a href="https://stateparks.oregon.gov/index.cfm?do=park.profile&amp;parkId=221" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Rowena Crest Viewpoint:</a>Highlights: This viewpoint offers stunning views of the Gorge and is particularly beautiful during sunrise and sunset. The winding road adds to the charm. <a href="https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/washington/beacon-rock-trail" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Beacon Rock State Park</a>:Hike up Beacon Rock for fantastic views of the Gorge. The trail is well-maintained and offers a unique perspective of the surrounding landscape. <a href="https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/washington/cape-horn-loop-trail" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Cape Horn Trailhead:</a>The Cape Horn Trail provides views of the Gorge, Beacon Rock, and scenic landscapes. It's a diverse trail with wooded areas and open cliffs. <a href="https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/oregon/angels-rest--3" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Angel's Rest:</a>The summit of Angel's Rest offers panoramic views of the Gorge and surrounding mountains. It's a popular trail with a rewarding view at the top and around 4.5 miles! <a href="https://gorgefriends.org/hike-the-gorge/catherine-creek-arch-loop.html" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Catherine Creek:</a>Across the bridge into White Salmon is Catherine Creek! This is where we got engaged and where we spend a ton of time during the spring months for wildflowers and summer months for great views of the gorge! Here you will find a wide range of hikes from 1.9 miles. - 15 miles! <a href="https://gorgefriends.org/hike-the-gorge/tom-mccall-point.html" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Tom McCall Point</a>: For 1.5 miles, this hike climbs steadily 1,030 along cliffs to Tom McCall Point and returns the same way, for a total of 3 miles. Views of wildflowers, Cascade peaks, and a wide swath of the rocky cliffs that line the Columbia will slow your pace and give your camera a workout. <a href="https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/washington/coyote-wall-loop-trail" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Coyote Wall Loop Trail: </a> This is a moderate to difficult hike with steep inclines, but gorgeous views of the Columbia River Gorge and Mount Hood. Expect to see amazing wildflowers during the springtime. There are many connecting trails and is easy to make into a longer or shorter loop or out and back. The trailhead is right next to Locke Lake along Route 14. <a href="https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/crgnsa/recarea/?recid=30026" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Multnomah Falls</a>: This waterfall is one of the most popular landmarks in the Pacific Northwest—more than 2 million people come to visit each year. It helps that it’s super accessible and can be seen with minimal hiking, If you start here, there are many more hikes to follow further up and into the forest. <a href="https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/crgnsa/recarea/?recid=29934" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Horsetail Falls and Trail</a>: Located in the “waterfall corridor” this trailhead is just under 3 miles from Multnomah Falls. It’s a fairly steep and difficult climb to the upper Horestail Falls. This can connect you to other trail options for a longer hikes and for more challenging climbs. <a href="https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/oregon/shoreline-path?mobileMap=false&amp;ref=sidebar-static-map&amp;ref=sidebar-view-full-map" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Shoreline Trail</a>: This trail is just under 5 miles and takes you directly along the shore of the Columbia River in downtown Hood River. This is one of the local Hood River hikes that is within walking distance from downtown, pack a picnic and some sandals and enjoy the beauty of Waterfront Park and the Marina. <a href="https://hoodriverparksandrec.org/indian-creek-trail/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Indian Creek Trail</a>: It’s an easy wooded hike, just over three miles with glimpses of the creek throughout. This hike is ideal for a leisurely outing nearby. <a href="https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/mthood/recarea/?recid=53228" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Lost Lake Loop</a>: This scenic 3 mile trail around the lake is rated easy, flat and family-friendly. There are stunning views of Mount Hood and it’s accessible to the lakeshore for wading and exploring. <a href="https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/mthood/recarea/?recid=53238" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">McNeil Point Trail</a>: This is noted as one of the more difficult Hood River hikes in the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.fs.usda.gov/mthood/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Mount Hood National Forest</a>. Clocking in at just under 10 miles, this trail is known for stunning views of Mount Hood and Conifer forests. <a href="https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/mthood/recarea/?recid=53442" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Old Salmon River Trail</a>: This is another hike in the Mount Hood National Forest, but rated as an easy stroll for all hikers. It’s just over 2 miles along the riverside with red cedars and small sandy beaches. <a href="https://stateparks.oregon.gov/index.cfm?do=park.profile&amp;parkId=113" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail</a>: This trail spans a 12-mile stretch of the old Highway 30 in three disconnected segments of paved paths. The Twin Tunnels leg is a 4.5 mile stretch connecting Hood River to the small town of Mosier and takes you through two restored highway tunnels.

Eem - Modern Thai eatery serving creative BBQ and craft cocktails including tiki drinks in traditional mugs. Hat Yai - Thai eatery serving comfort fare such as fried chicken, curries, and roti. Khao Moo Dang - Neighborhood joint specializing in Thai BBQ pork, crispy pork belly, and curry noodle soups. Sparrow Bakery - Fresh-made pastries, breads, and breakfast sandwiches are offered by this cozy bakery. Sugarpine Drive-In - Drive-through eatery with a walk-up window &amp; outdoor seats, serving soft serve, salads &amp; sandwiches. **Great place to stop during your drive from Portland to Hood River! Flying Fish Company - Restaurant and fresh fish market. Sustainably sourced, humane protein from land and sea. Food CartsHawthorne Asylum Food Cart Pod - Spacious food court with many offerings, from fish and chips to gyros, plus a fire pit. Mississippi Marketplace - Collection of food carts serving Asian, Southern, breakfast grub, BBQ &amp; sandwiches near a pub. Sure Shot Burger - Counter-serve operation serving a rotating menu of specialty burgers, waffle fries, and beers.

Neighborhoods 

NEIGHBORHOODS YOU'LL LOVEPut on a light jacket and stroll around one of these East side neighborhoods to see some pretty, quirky houses packed around a main street with all kinds of fun stops (and people watching):-&nbsp;<a href="https://www.travelportland.com/neighborhoods/hawthorne/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Hawthorne</a>-&nbsp;<a href="https://www.travelportland.com/neighborhoods/belmont/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Belmont / Sunnyside</a>-&nbsp;<a href="https://www.travelportland.com/neighborhoods/alberta-arts-district/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Alberta Arts District</a> These three neighborhoods are some of our favorites!

Parks

Portland is known for its parks and alot of the parks have trails inside of it! Check out the following ones:Laurelhurst Park: Beautiful historic park at the center of Portland's East Side, opened in 1912, from the architects that brought us Central Park and Golden Gate Park -- and you can tell! Steps from great shops and restaurants on Hawthorne, Stark, and Belmont. Great for a stroll through the foliage and Portland people-watching. Mt. Tabor: Hiking trails and great views on a heavily wooded dormant volcano turned city park. Take a ride out here and get lost without leaving the city! Forest Park: From the experts: "At 5,200 acres, Portland's Forest Park is one of the largest urban forests in the US. Over 80 miles of trails stretch along the eastern slope of the Tualatin Mountains, overlooking Northwest Portland and the convergence of the Columbia and Willamette Rivers. Forest Park offers an unparalleled opportunity for visitors to experience a true Northwest forest without leaving the Portland city limits." We recommend the Macleay Park Trail for a quintessential PNW hiking experience that's low effort and 10-15min from downtown.
