A weekend in February 2017, amongst dear friends in the jungle, we first met under this tree. We found ourselves in one of those conversations that lasted until the early hours of the morning. We exchanged numbers and promised to keep in touch. Little did we know this was the beginning of something beautiful.

After meeting in February 2017, Britt came back to Costa Rica & spent a few weeks with Felipe at the farm in La Gamba.

And then it was Felipe's turn to visit Britt in the States! Britt had been working in California, so Felipe met her there and they traveled up & down the California coast.

After some months apart, they reunited in their hammocks on the beaches of Costa Rica.

And then decided that they really liked doing life together and living in two different countries made that more difficult.... so they got legally married!

Directly after getting married, Britt & Felipe attended a 3-day silent meditation retreat. And directly after that, were living apart again for several months, working in their own countries, hatching a creative plan for how live and travel for 6-months in the states....

We spent several months apart after getting married and spent those month cooking up a grand plan to live out of and travel the states in our trusty CRV, Henrietta! In her, we traveled from IL > WI > MN >ND > MT >OR > CA > AZ > CO > IL

For the next several years, we spent our time between Costa Rica and the USA. Here we are at Matapalo in the Osa Penisula, where we lived for 2 years at a lodge called Tumbo de las Olas. Felipe worked as a chef and Brittany was a homeschool teacher for the kids living on the property.

A favorite memory we share is when we spent 3 months living and learning at Rancho Mastatal. Felipe had been friends of the ranch for several years and the opportunity to participate in their internship fell into our laps. We enthusiastically took the opportunity and are so glad we did. This place, these people and those memories we hold near to our hearts!

And during all this back and forth, we had applied for Felipe's spousal visa and after a 2 year immigration process, Felipe arrived in the USA to live full-time on August 13, 2021. After he arrived, we spent a month in Minnesota with my grandmother and then spent 10 months living with Brittany's mom in Geneva, IL.

And then, in August 2022, we moved to Bismarck, ND! Never did we think we would end up in Bismarck, but we live by the philosophy of follow-the-path-until-the-path-ends and the path took us to Bismarck, ND.

And Bismarck is where we have been since. We love our sun-filled apartment, our two angel kitties, Tela & Ruby, riding our bikes, spending time with Brittany's family and continuing to dream big about what will happen next in our lives. Something we found in each other was a compatible desire to learn and adventure and take risks and because of that, we have met and loved a broad range of people and we are so excited to celebrate our story, and your contribution to our story, at our harvest of love!
