We are providing accommodations for everyone Friday and Saturday nights for the wedding at the hotel located within the historic Abbey. We have reserved the entire venue for the full weekend, so it will be our own private Italian countryside retreat! Our small thank you to our friends and family traveling abroad to celebrate our special day!
Relais Abbazia San Pietro In Valle dates back to the 8th century, when the Church was first built. Therefore please be prepared, the residenza does not have air conditioning. Temps average 65-80 degrees during June, the evenings being cooler, the hotel does provide fans but know that it will be warmer than most of us are used to at bedtime.

How to get to the venue:
We suggest flying overnight on Thursday June 12th and arriving into Rome sometime on Friday June 13th.
Our venue is in the small country town of Ferentillo, IT. Rome's Fiumicino Airport (FCO) is the closest airport. We highly recommend that you take the train from Rome to Terni as opposed to renting a car in Rome. You can rent a car in Terni if you choose, however we are working on providing transportation options from Terni train station to the venue, which is about a 25-minute drive. Transportation options will likely be available on Thursday and Friday. Taxis are also available at the station.
Train information:
Trenitalia will take you from Fiumicino Airport station to Rome Termini, where you will transfer trains to Terni Station. Some quick tips- Download the Trenitalia app. When you purchase train tickets enter Fiumicino Airport to Terni as one ticket so the app will help track your status and track numbers. Italian trains can run a few minutes late, so leave yourself at least 10-15 minutes of transfer time at Rome Termini. Tracks for departing trains are typically posted 10 minutes ahead of time. Tickets average 22-25 euros. Do not purchase your tickets days ahead, travel delays with airlines and trains can impact which train you may want to take. Purchasing right before you board (at least 5 minutes prior to departure time) is just fine. You must validate your ticket in the app once you are on your train. If you have purchased a physical ticket, those must be validated on machines located trackside prior to boarding.
We are hosting a welcome reception on Friday evening. Aperitivos, pizza and wine will be served.

PASSPORT
Please make sure that your passport holds validity for an additional 6 months prior to your departure date.
Arriving in Italy is relatively simple. You will follow the signs to passport entry, specifically look for US passports which many times are separated from other country nationals. You will scan your passport in a machine and proceed to the customs officer for a stamp. Boom! You're officially in Italy. Buongiorno!!
Get on the Global Entry train. Global Entry allows you to virtually skip the line at Customs upon re-entry into the United States when traveling abroad. Enrollment includes a 5-year membership to TSA Precheck. Apply Here
Alternatively, download the Mobile Passport to easily re-enter the United States after your trip.
For those who are exploring Italy before or after the wedding:
Trenitalia's Frecciarossa is the high-speed rail that connects the country. Local trains will take you to and from Rome, and you can connect to high-speed rail at Rome Termini. Tip- you must use the Italian city names when searching for a ticket. Example, Florence = Firenze.
Airbnb is the best option to find accommodations in smaller cities that do not have a large hotel presence.
