If you are new to Tucson, take a hike! The desert offers amazing beauty, and the couple would love to share this beauty with those who mean so much to them. Here are some of the couple's favorite places to visit in Tucson:
-Saguaro National Park: there is an "east" and "west" portion of the Park. Both are beautiful in their own way. This is an excellent opportunity to visit one of our nation's most beautiful assets- its National Parks! As a bonus, the wedding venue borders on Saguaro National Park West, so you will se some beautiful saguaro cacti at the wedding.
-Mt. Lemmon: this is where Brittany & Dustin got engaged and so it is a must-see place. Have you ever heard of a Sky Island? Well, Mt. Lemmon has many of them! Drive all the way up to the top to the town of Summerhaven to see the sights and to grab a plate-sized cookie from the famous Cookie Cabin.
-Sabino Canyon: this is a stunning canyon with the added benefit of having a running tram service through it. So if you don't want to hike, you can take a tram and still see all the sights. Or, hike up and take a tram back down! The canyon is about 3.7 miles long, so about 7.4 miles total. It's a great run up and back as well.
-The Loop: Tucson boasts one of the longest paved river paths in the world. If you are from a place that has bodies of water, you may look at our "river" and think- 'Where is the water?' Well, certain areas of the wash bed are flowing year-round, but mostly it is a dry river bed until Monsoon rains fill it up. Nevertheless, this fully-paved path is 131 miles of fun. Take a walk, go for a run, or rent a bike and cycle on this path free from motorized vehicles. Cycling on the whole Loop is a fun, challenging way to see all of Tucson in a day!
-Arizona Desert Museum: this is a must-see for anyone wanting to learn more about the amazing plants and animals of the desert.
-Old Tucson Studios: this is where some of the most iconic western films were made. And as an added bonus, in October there is a spooky event here called Nightfall. This is a Tucson Halloween-time classic!
-Marana Pumpkin Patch: this is another fall classic. Pick a pumpkin, sample some amazing local desserts, and get lost in a corn maze!
-Rocks & Ropes gym: this is the best local climbing gym and also where Brittany & Dustin met. If you want a fun indoor activity, check it out!
-Pinnacle Peak: this is a classic Tucson steakhouse, but even better- this is an old Western town as well. Get a meal then catch the stunt show!
-Tohono Chul Garden Bistro: this is a great brunch spot and while you are here make sure to walk around Tohono Chul Park, as this is a beautiful desert botanical garden.
-Downtown/4th Avenue: pretty much all of the restaurants downtown (around Congress St) and on 4th Avenue are really good so check them out.
-Roadhouse Cinema: eat a meal, grab a beer, and watch a movie all at the same time! This is a really cool dine-in movie theater with great food options.
