Brittany and Joe’s story began on a kickball field in Pensacola, FL in 2017. After a date over lionfish dip and a few beers at Hopjack’s restaurant, they could tell there was more to their relationship than just being teammates! They soon grew closer, sharing special moments on weekend beach trips, weeknight dinner and movie dates, and concerts at the Wharf amphitheater. They bonded over their love of college football, 90’s country music, their shared sense of humor, and their genuine care for each other. They “made it official” in April of that year.

Joe’s job took him to Middle Georgia in late 2018, and they committed to a distance relationship. Each Friday, one of them would load up their car and head to the other’s place on the 5 hour journey. For over a year, they made Saturdays count with day trips, pool days with friends, snack runs to Buc-ee’s, and more 90’s country music. Their cat, Sydney, usually made the trip too!

When COVID hit in spring 2020, it offered an opportunity for Brittany to work remotely. She ventured up to Warner Robins and moved in with Joe. In 2021, they celebrated Brittany’s birthday in Savannah, GA, and they were instantly captivated by the beautiful, haunted Hostess City. Sitting in the cozy confines of O’Connell’s Pub with a tall Guinness, they talked about how special it would be to live there someday. As fate would have it, life presented them the opportunity to move to Savannah in 2022, and they have made the city their home ever since.

Through all of the moves and so many magical moments, Joe knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Brittany. On December 10, 2023 under the guise of a quick weekend getaway to Tybee Island, Joe proposed to Brittany near a quiet dune on the beach.
