Our Wedding

Our story begins the way all great love stories do… on the bathroom line at a college party. It was freshman year when Nick spotted Brittany’s Islanders phone case and, being the hockey fan (and smooth talker) that he is, dropped a hockey-themed pickup line. The conversation was short-lived — a quick moment in a crowded hallway — and just like that, they went their separate ways. Fast forward a year. Brittany, in her usual very prepared fashion, didn’t read her emails and showed up to a computer science class that had been canceled. But that little twist of timing led her straight back to Nick — and this time, something just clicked. Some would call that fate. Others would call it poor inbox management. Either way, it was the beginning of something real. Their first official date happened the day after Christmas and, naturally, included ice skating. (Brittany now understands this was just the first step in Nick’s lifelong plan to convert her into a full-blown hockey fan.) It took a few months, but by spring, sparks were flying, and in August, Nick asked Brittany to be his girlfriend. Over the next seven years, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and a lot of hockey — not to mention spontaneous trips to Nashville, fishing adventures, and more Rangers games than Brittany would have ever signed up for back in college. Through every milestone and every quiet moment, their bond only grew stronger. Then, in the most perfect full-circle moment, Nick proposed at one of the places where their story first began, in front of the lighthouse at Robert Moses. Brittany, through happy tears, said yes, and now — exactly eight years and two days after he first asked her to be his girlfriend — they’re getting married. From random run-ins to forever teammates, this love story is uniquely and perfectly ours.
