🇨🇵 ☀️ 🍾
Yes! St. Barth's is a French territory. Regardless if you're traveling by boat or air, you'll be required to pass through customs when arriving/departing from the island.
🎫 🗺 🎟
You can reach St. Barth's from a nearby island via ferry or airplane. Getting to St Barth's via St Maarten is the most common way to get to there. Regardless if you fly or ferry, you'll arrive in St. Barth's main town, Gustavia.
✈️ 🛩 🚁
Most routes involve at least one connection—typically flying into St. Maarten (SXM), San Juan (SJU), or St. Thomas (STT), then taking a short 15-min island hop flight to Gustaf III Airport (SBH). The final approach into St. Barth's is famously scenic, with views over turquoise water and green hills.
If enough of us are flying to St. Barth’s, we can explore a private flight/charter—which is often more cost-effective for a group—so we can travel together, avoid extra layovers, and eliminate the fuss that comes with ferrying. Our wedding planner can help coordinate all the details - just let B&B know you're interested in this option so we can coordinate with our planner!
Keep in mind: the St. Barts airport is small with one of the shortest runways in the world meaning it can only accommodate smaller planes with capacities around 12-20 passengers. Commercial jets require a longer runway and cannot land on St Barths.

On our first trip to St. Barth's, we flew to Saint Martin airport (SXM) and ferried from there. There are two ferry options from Saint Martin, both will require a taxi from the airport to the ferry's departure/arrival location. Depending on the weather ferrying can take anywhere from 45mins to 1.15hrs from SXM.
Voyager is located in Marigot about 15 mins from the airport.
Great Bay Express located in Phillipsburg is about 20-30 mins from the airport depending on traffic.
Private charters can also be arranged if you prefer (although they can be on the pricey side).
Regardless what you decide, our Wedding Planner/Concierge can help coordinate and schedule ferry transportation.
🚗 🛵 🚕
You certainly can if you like and our Wedding Planner/Concierge can help with booking/coordination!
Apart from narrow roads, driving in St. Barth's is very manageable and traffic rules are the same as in the U.S. Car rentals are primarily serviced near the ferry port in Gustavia, but we can coordinate rental pick-up/drop-off via concierge.
Keep in mind that we'll provide transportation to/from all group activities!
*NEW* St. Barth's does not have Uber/LYFT and taxi's can be unreliable along with expensive (think €50 one way).

We're staying in an area on the island called Grand Cul-de-Sac, on the northeastern coast of St. Barth’s.
This spot is known for its calm, shallow waters that stay warm year-round. A coral reef protects the bay, creating a beautiful, sheltered lagoon perfect for snorkeling, swimming, or just floating around with a drink in hand.
Keep an eye out for colorful fish—parrotfish, angelfish, butterflyfish—and even a sea turtle if you’re lucky.

St. Barth's has a vibe that is both glamorous and laid-back, blending French-inspired chic with a relaxed Caribbean atmosphere.
It's known for its high-end restaurants, designer boutiques, and beautiful beaches, but also for its approachable, casual style, where sandals and straw beach bags are perfectly acceptable.
