Our story begins on 2 wheels, sometime in 2011 or 2012. We met in the spin room of LA Fitness in Orlando, Florida. Alex was the instructor and Brooke was the student. We initially bonded over the shared love of all things cycling. Alex having never met a stranger or anyone that he couldnt talk to, we quickly became friends. And from there it was off to the races, literally.


Beginning with casual weekend rides with new and mutual friends, to joining a local bike shop racing team, to someone winning a state time trial lazy championship. Our world was cycling; and cycling with each other. We have ridden in many states and even overseas. But like the saying goes in order to keep your balance you must keep moving forward.


Our relationship grew and evolved and strengthened over the miles and years. It became such that people and acquaintances just assumed that we were married. Growing ever tired of correcting them, that were in fact not married, we just started to let it slide. Our closest friends even asking, when are you two just going to go ahead and get married?


Marriage was something that we never avoided, but it was never something that we each needed to do either. We knew where we stood with each other and that was enough. We didnt need a piece of paper to declare ourselves to one another.


We moved to Virginia is 2019 and bought a house together. While the 2-wheeled miles have dropped off, weve grown in other ways. Weve grown our 4-legged family, adding Penny in 2022 and 2 feline sisters Poppy and Pearl in 2023.


Like the miles and roads weve ridden, they havent always been smooth, but we have done them together. supporting, cheering and pushing the other.
