Our Wedding

Our&nbsp;story&nbsp;begins&nbsp;on&nbsp;2&nbsp;wheels,&nbsp;sometime&nbsp;in&nbsp;2011&nbsp;or&nbsp;2012.&nbsp;We&nbsp;met&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;spin&nbsp;room&nbsp;of&nbsp;LA&nbsp;Fitness&nbsp;in&nbsp;Orlando,&nbsp;Florida.&nbsp;Alex&nbsp;was&nbsp;the&nbsp;instructor&nbsp;and&nbsp;Brooke&nbsp;was&nbsp;the&nbsp;student.&nbsp;We&nbsp;initially&nbsp;bonded&nbsp;over&nbsp;the&nbsp;shared&nbsp;love&nbsp;of&nbsp;all&nbsp;things&nbsp;cycling.&nbsp;Alex&nbsp;having&nbsp;never&nbsp;met&nbsp;a&nbsp;stranger&nbsp;or&nbsp;anyone&nbsp;that&nbsp;he&nbsp;couldnt&nbsp;talk&nbsp;to,&nbsp;we&nbsp;quickly&nbsp;became&nbsp;friends.&nbsp;And&nbsp;from&nbsp;there&nbsp;it&nbsp;was&nbsp;off&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;races,&nbsp;literally. Beginning&nbsp;with&nbsp;casual&nbsp;weekend&nbsp;rides&nbsp;with&nbsp;new&nbsp;and&nbsp;mutual&nbsp;friends,&nbsp;to&nbsp;joining&nbsp;a&nbsp;local&nbsp;bike&nbsp;shop&nbsp;racing&nbsp;team,&nbsp;to&nbsp;someone&nbsp;winning&nbsp;a&nbsp;state&nbsp;time&nbsp;trial&nbsp;lazy&nbsp;championship.&nbsp;Our&nbsp;world&nbsp;was&nbsp;cycling;&nbsp;and&nbsp;cycling&nbsp;with&nbsp;each&nbsp;other.&nbsp;We&nbsp;have&nbsp;ridden&nbsp;in&nbsp;many&nbsp;states&nbsp;and&nbsp;even&nbsp;overseas.&nbsp;But&nbsp;like&nbsp;the&nbsp;saying&nbsp;goes&nbsp;in&nbsp;order&nbsp;to&nbsp;keep&nbsp;your&nbsp;balance&nbsp;you&nbsp;must&nbsp;keep&nbsp;moving&nbsp;forward. Our&nbsp;relationship&nbsp;grew&nbsp;and&nbsp;evolved&nbsp;and&nbsp;strengthened&nbsp;over&nbsp;the&nbsp;miles&nbsp;and&nbsp;years.&nbsp;It&nbsp;became&nbsp;such&nbsp;that&nbsp;people&nbsp;and&nbsp;acquaintances&nbsp;just&nbsp;assumed&nbsp;that&nbsp;we&nbsp;were&nbsp;married.&nbsp;Growing&nbsp;ever&nbsp;tired&nbsp;of&nbsp;correcting&nbsp;them,&nbsp;that&nbsp;were&nbsp;in&nbsp;fact&nbsp;not&nbsp;married,&nbsp;we&nbsp;just&nbsp;started&nbsp;to&nbsp;let&nbsp;it&nbsp;slide.&nbsp;Our&nbsp;closest&nbsp;friends&nbsp;even&nbsp;asking,&nbsp;when&nbsp;are&nbsp;you&nbsp;two&nbsp;just&nbsp;going&nbsp;to&nbsp;go&nbsp;ahead&nbsp;and&nbsp;get&nbsp;married? Marriage&nbsp;was&nbsp;something&nbsp;that&nbsp;we&nbsp;never&nbsp;avoided,&nbsp;but&nbsp;it&nbsp;was&nbsp;never&nbsp;something&nbsp;that&nbsp;we&nbsp;each&nbsp;needed&nbsp;to&nbsp;do&nbsp;either.&nbsp;We&nbsp;knew&nbsp;where&nbsp;we&nbsp;stood&nbsp;with&nbsp;each&nbsp;other&nbsp;and&nbsp;that&nbsp;was&nbsp;enough.&nbsp;We&nbsp;didnt&nbsp;need&nbsp;a&nbsp;piece&nbsp;of&nbsp;paper&nbsp;to&nbsp;declare&nbsp;ourselves&nbsp;to&nbsp;one&nbsp;another. We&nbsp;moved&nbsp;to&nbsp;Virginia&nbsp;is&nbsp;2019&nbsp;and&nbsp;bought&nbsp;a&nbsp;house&nbsp;together.&nbsp;While&nbsp;the&nbsp;2-wheeled&nbsp;miles&nbsp;have&nbsp;dropped&nbsp;off,&nbsp;weve&nbsp;grown&nbsp;in&nbsp;other&nbsp;ways.&nbsp;Weve&nbsp;grown&nbsp;our&nbsp;4-legged&nbsp;family,&nbsp;adding&nbsp;Penny&nbsp;in&nbsp;2022&nbsp;and&nbsp;2&nbsp;feline&nbsp;sisters&nbsp;Poppy&nbsp;and&nbsp;Pearl&nbsp;in&nbsp;2023.&nbsp; Like&nbsp;the&nbsp;miles&nbsp;and&nbsp;roads&nbsp;weve&nbsp;ridden,&nbsp;they&nbsp;havent&nbsp;always&nbsp;been&nbsp;smooth,&nbsp;but&nbsp;we&nbsp;have&nbsp;done&nbsp;them&nbsp;together.&nbsp;supporting,&nbsp;cheering&nbsp;and&nbsp;pushing&nbsp;the&nbsp;other. We're&nbsp;so&nbsp;happy&nbsp;that&nbsp;the&nbsp;day&nbsp;has&nbsp;finally&nbsp;come&nbsp;for&nbsp;us&nbsp;to&nbsp;be&nbsp;married&nbsp;and&nbsp;that&nbsp;you&nbsp;are&nbsp;here&nbsp;to&nbsp;celebrate&nbsp;with&nbsp;us.

Rebecca, aka Beck, and Brooke met on the 1st day of undergrad at Coastal Carolina in August of 1999. They were across the hall roommates. Immediately, they hit it off and have been best friends ever since.  Both were only children, and each was the sister the other never had. Going on 25+ years later, their relationship has changed and evolved but has never wavered. Though never living as physically close to one another as those 4 years of college, they always make the effort to travel and go places with each other; with and without families and significant others. They will absolutely be that trouble making rowdy pair of old ladies in the nursing home.

Audrey is the daughter of my Maid of Honor, Rebecca. As Beck and Brooke were like sisters, when Audrey was born, Brooke became an aunt even though she was an only child. Brooke has watched her grow up and become a beautiful young lady and can't wait to see her continue to blossom into a wonderful adult.

Alex's&nbsp;father,&nbsp;Tony,&nbsp;has&nbsp;the&nbsp;privilege&nbsp;of&nbsp;standing&nbsp;beside&nbsp;his&nbsp;youngest&nbsp;son&nbsp;on&nbsp;his&nbsp;wedding&nbsp;day&nbsp;as&nbsp;his&nbsp;Best&nbsp;Man.

Our celebration will be outside, but covered during the month of June. Weather is unpredictable, please plan accordingly. Please dress comfortably. We are not formal and we don't expect you to be either. We will not have a dinner service, hors d'oeuvres and dessert will be available during the cocktail hour and reception, which will run from 5pm to 7pm.

Our lovely venue is in a rural location of Mineral, Virginia. Please keep that in mind when traveling to and from our celebration. The address to our celebration is:10440 Jefferson Highway, Mineral VA 23117 The closest cities are Charlottesville to the west and Richmond to the south east. Two hotel blocks have been set aside, one closer to Charlottesville and the other in Short Pump (Richmond) There are also lots of AirBnB's and VRBO rentals in Lake Anna. Lake Anna, a lovely destination area, is located to the north of our venue.
