What is the Weather Like in September?

The weather in Beaver Creek is one of the main reasons we chose to get married here! It is dry, beautiful, and mild. Normally during the day, mid to upper 60's while at night, upper 40's to low 50's. Obviously with each year, weather changes, but this is typical for the time of year in Colorado.

What is the Altitude and How Do You Prepare?

The altitude at Beanos Cabin is around 9,000 feet in elevation, with Beaver Creek Village sitting just above 8,000 feet. You will notice a change as soon as you get to Denver. Typically, the drive from Denver to Beaver Creek will help your body acclimate to the altitude change, but it will still take some time. Drink lots of water, even when you don't think you need it. We also recommend purchasing "Boost" Oxygen bottles. These are small inhalers filled with pure oxygen. You can purchase on Amazon or anywhere in Colorado. These have always been helpful for us and necessary as we acclimate to the altitude. A last word of wisdom- Alcohol affects you differently at 9,000 feet. 1 drink there = 2 drinks at sea level. Plan accordingly :)

What are our Transportation Options to get to Beaver Creek?

There are a couple of options. Renting a car from Denver International Airport is an easy option. Most of the time, the drive takes around 2 hours. The Epic Mountain Express is a service that can be reserved in advance. Below is the number to call if you are interested in their transportation service that will take you directly to your hotel, AirBnB, or wherever you are choosing to stay in Beaver Creek. When you call, let them know you are with the Ferguson-Smith Wedding Party to get their discounted rate. cstewart1@vailresorts.com is our contact for Epic Mountain Express.
