Matt and I met at a ring dunk during our junior year at Texas A&amp;M. I was dating another person at the time, but according to Matt, he took note and waited patiently. Before the start of our senior year, we reconnected and went on a date at Carrino's in College Station. Matt had told me he was allergic to dogs, and I quite literally said "Well, Kona isn't going anywhere, so we might as well find out if you're allergic to her now so we don't waste our time". Needless to say, Matt came over and met Kona and didn't break out into hives, so we were in a good place and I decided (along with Kona) that we would keep him around for a while. Through early conversations about our lives and families, we both discovered that we were close to the same person. Matt and I are both only children, and both of our dad's are commercial airline pilots who were also Air Force pilots in the Gulf War. Those who are part of the airline family know that its not a super common thing to meet pilot's kids, and for us, this was a huge factor in understanding how we were raised and how our lives were different than our friends as we grew up. Our second date I drove up to Dallas to visit him. I brought him out to meet one of my best friends, Whitney, so she could meet him and get her seal of approval (he definitely got it). The rest of the summer was spent by Matt finishing up his internship at Texas Instruments and me finishing up summer school so I could graduate in December. Our fall semester was filled with a lot of midnight yells and football games with amazing seats! Matt quite literally got me through my last semester of undergrad. I was taking 15 hours of core classes and spent 30-40 hours a week studying for physiology exams, so he saw the worst of me early on in our relationship. He put up with me and nearly 6 years later, he still does. Matt and I love to travel and see the world. Sharing new experiences and places together is our favorite thing to do, so when we decided on where we wanted to get married, we wanted our friends and families to experience one of our favorite places, Colorado! We are grateful for each and every one of you for your love and support throughout our relationship over the past 6 years and are looking forwarding to making many more memories to come as we start our life together as husband and wife. Come Explore Our Favorite Place!

Beaver Creek is one of the most stunning places in the US, especially in the fall! Nestled into Vail Valley, there is an abundance of things to see, do, and of course, eat. We will share some of our personal favorite things in Beaver Creek and Vail. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

We always recommend a chair lift ride from the base of the mountain to the top! Whether you choose a chair or a gondola, the views are spectacular the whole ride up. You can buy lift tickets at the base of the mountain. Our favorite thing to do is take the chair up and hike back down!

This was a happy surprise when we visited last fall! Vail Oktoberfest runs two weekends in September! Vail Village hosts the weekend of September 16-19, and is one of our favorite things we have done in Vail. Enjoy incredible food, great music, and awesome beer, of course! If you don't have a car, you can take the Eagle County Transit to get to Vail. "ECO Transit" as it is called, picks up at the Bear Lot within the gates of Beaver Creek, or at the Reception Center right by the main gate. Cost is $7 each way! PS- get the blueberry strudel. You will thank me later!

Vail Oktoberfest

When we say we have never had a breakfast like it, we mean it. The Little Diner is somewhere we visit multiple times on each visit, and once you go, it will be on your to do list every time you come back to the valley. Known for their dutch baby, fresh fruit pancakes, and just about everything else you can imagine, you will not have a bad thing here. Blueberry pancakes are a must, and a personal favorite is the breakfast sandwich. This place gets busy super fast, so go early, or look them up on google to join their virtual wait list!

The Little Diner- Vail

If you look this trail up online, it looks really long. If you take the chair up, you can access this via Royal Elk Trail. Beaver Lake is stunning and provides reflective views of the Colorado wilderness. As with any hiking trail in the mountains, bring water, boost oxygen, and phone/camera :) Allow a decent amount of time for this trail, but trust us that the views are worth it!

Beaver Lake and Beaver Lake Trail

Located at the base of the mountain, this is the hub for skiers and hikers! Lots of great restaurants, (one of our favorites is the Golden Eagle Inn- try the Elk Meatloaf!) shops, and fun activities for everyone. The fire pits turn on at night, and its a great place to grab a glass of wine or beer and relax by the fire as it starts to cool down for the evening. Lawn games are set up in the grassy area, and there is often live music in the evenings for everyone to enjoy!

Beaver Creek Village

The Vail Gondola is located in Lionshead Village (really close to the Little Diner!). This takes you way up the mountain to some incredible views, of which you can continue to hike via the extensive trail map, or can see some sites, and take the gondola back down. It is definitely worth it!

Gondola Ride at Vail

Located just South of the Beaver Creek gates, the White River runs through Avon and is located along the Riverfront Village. It's a great easy walking trail with beautiful views. A nice relaxing stroll with a cup of coffee for an early morning!

Other Important Notes

The Welcome Reception will be in an indoor/outdoor venue. The ceremony will be outside on a grassy lawn, ladies, please keep that in mind when choosing footwear :) It does get chilly at night in the mountains! A shawl is a good choice to keep you warm should you get too cold.

What to Wear

Guest Pick-Up at 3:45 PM at the front of the Park Hyatt (photo above). Guests will be escorted in dark green Beaver Creek Shuttles to Beano's Cabin. No personal vehicles are allowed up the mountain.

Park Hyatt Beaver Creek

Our ceremony will be on the lawn of Beano's Cabin! Ceremony will begin at 4:30 PM, followed by cocktail hour. We have hired 2 incredibly talented photographers to capture our beautiful and special day! We kindly ask all of our guests to adhere to our unplugged ceremony, so our moments are captured by our photographers. We welcome you to take as many pictures as you would like before and after the ceremony, but please, no phones or cameras during.

Cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing will follow all at Beanos Cabin! Dinner orders will be taken once guests are seated at their assigned tables, followed by cake, and an incredible band to dance the night away! Night caps will be provided during the party as well. Should you have any dietary restrictions, please let your server know so you can be accommodated and enjoy our day as much as we will!
