Nate and Brooke had been single for a bit when two of their friends both encouraged them to get on Bumble. Brooke refused to get on a dating app but Becca kept nudging her to get on it. She finally caved and created her profile on Saturday, October 30th 2021. On Sunday morning, this cute hunter came across her profile. Little did she know, that hunter was the best thing to ever come into her life. He was the first and only person Brooke talked to on the app. Their locations matched by him setting up his goose blind across the river, which he says Brooke can never complain about him hunting since that’s what brought them together. They talked on the phone every day that week for 3+ hours and had conversations that were endless. That Thursday, Nate got out of his apprenticeship class early and asked to come meet Brooke that night even though they had a date planned for the next day. He came and met Brooke and her parents at the same time because “a father should know the type of man that’s taking their daughter out”. They went on their first date that Friday at El Rancho Inn steak house and got some dessert at Ice Cream Emporium after because you know Brooke and her ice cream. After that night, they were exclusive ever since.

How We Met

Let’s just say it was a HUGE surprise. Brooke had been wanting to get engaged just never knew when it was coming. Nate is such a jokester and puts on a good face so she knew she would never see it coming but that’s great because she wanted it to be a surprise. When Brooke got home on October 6th from work, Nate asked her if she wanted to go scout out a few hunting spots with him and his brother up north the next day. She asked where and he said up past Lake Almanor near Susanville. She told him that sounded absolutely awful and she didn’t want to go hahaha well next thing you know he wakes her up at 5 am on October 7th, and asks if she was ready to go. She said she didn’t want to go and wanted to sleep. He said “you have nothing better to do today. Why not spend some quality time?”She told him fine but he had to buy her Dutch Bros and give her a massage later (he hates giving massages). He said deal so she threw her hair up in a clip, threw on some comfy clothes and headed up north with his brother Jacob and his dog, Boone. As we got close to Lake Almanor, he stated we should go check out the property where Brooke’s family is building a cabin and see the progress. She agreed it was a good idea and stated that her dad needed something done up there so we could get that done for him. As we got to the property, Nate wanted to go check out the golf course that backs up to the property and asked his brother to take the dog to the bathroom. As we are up there, TMI, this rush of a feeling that Brooke was going to poop her pants came on her quick hahahahaha the Dutch bros got to her. She needed the keys ASAP to run to the bathroom down at the community beach. Little did she know they were in the middle of the whole plan to propose. Nate calls Jacob and asks for the keys. They are talking in code and told Jake to not bring the stuff. So they got Brooke the keys and she headed to the bathroom. They were like what the heck, she messed up our plan but it ended up working out better. As Brooke was coming back, Nate called to see where she was. She parked and he was up by the golf course and said look what I found. He was holding up a deer shed (antler) and stated that Boone had found it up there. She was like no way and he was like yea right up here. Brooke stated that they have to put that in the cabin once it’s built. That’s so cool. He brought it down and the ring was on it but Brooke didn’t see until he started grabbing it. She was in utter shock and pretty much blacked out!! It was the best surprise ever!! And of course we still went and checked out the hunting spots haha

Brooke and Hana have been best friends for 26+ years, before they were even born. Brooke and Hana's dads have been best friends since the 6th grade when Brian moved to Rio Vista and were the Best Men in each other's weddings. They have grown up in Rio Vista together enjoying many camping trips, sports, funny memories and more.

Brooke's strawberry blonde little cousin. The little cousin Brooke always thought was annoying when they were younger but now has no clue what she would do without her and they talk 24/7. The girl who brings so much joy, laughter and fun into the room. There is no doubt you will see her getting down on the dance floor.

Brooke met Brittany on the Cal Poly facebook page to find a roommate. It was a match made in heaven. Soon became sorority sisters, roommates throughout college, and best friends. There is no doubt she will be the life of the party with a drink in her hand till "the lights come on".

Brooke met Mikayla in the 4th grade when she moved to Rio Vista and joined Mr. Wright's class. Not only did they become instant friends, but so did their little brothers. Mikayla is someone that has the sweetest soul and you will love from the moment you meet her.

Mallory and Brooke met one day walking to one of their sorority events freshman year at Cal Poly. After meeting that first day, they were attached at the hip and inseparable. They became roommates their Sophomore year and made many amazing memories together ever since.

Brooke's POST! Basketball is what brought these two together. They both came to Dixon High School their freshman year to play basketball and go to school. Becca and Brooke spent many hours on the court together, traveling for tournaments, and making many incredible memories with their families.

The other half of the Dynamic Duo. Brooke and Kenna are cousins, but more like sisters. Only 18 days shy of being born on the same day. They have gone through every stage of life together, even both becoming nurses at the same time. Kenna and Brooke were the Dynamic Duo in every sport they played together and Kenna always was there to have Brooke's back.

Brooke's soon to be sister-in-law and Nate's little sister. Malissa is the little sister that Brooke never had and always dreamt of having. She has a spunky and fun personality like no other and always is the best to be around. There is no doubt she will have you laughing, just like her brother Nathan.

Kayla and Brooke became friends through Nate. Kayla’s boyfriend Kyle and Nathan were good friends and it just became an instant friendship as soon as Brooke met Kayla. Many double dates and dinner dates together. Kayla is a friend that will go above and beyond and is there for you no matter what.

The little girl that captivates your heart with the most beautiful blue eyes. Harper and Brookie have been besties since she came out of her mom's belly. Harper is so bright and one of the smartest little girls you will meet. She has the long legs and height like her mama so you know Becca and Brookie will be coaching in the future as Harper dominates on the basketball court.

The sassiest, most funny, bundle of energy you will ever meet. Drew is one to keep you on your toes and always knows how to captivate and entertain a room. Cookie loves spending days playing where are you and running laps around the kitchen playing tag with Drew. Although Cookie loves Drew so much, she tends to care more about Nate and where he is because that is who she loves the most.

The sweetest little boy you will have ever met. Brooke is Reed's "Auntie" and has the purest heart of any little kid you will meet. He always wants to make sure everyone around him knows how much he loves them and wants to make sure you are okay. He gives the best hugs and knows how to put the most genuine smile on your face.
