We first got to really know each other in a Shakespeare show - Brooklyn, ironically, played Samuel’s twin brother’s wife, and the plot of the show revolved around Brooklyn confusing Samuel’s character with her husband. From that performance came deeper connection. We had fun together - we laughed, we cried, we saw each other for who we truly were. Brooklyn loved his nearly infinite knowledge of anything, and Samuel loved her ability to listen and respond without getting annoyed (his words). Our joint love of writing, storytelling, baseball/softball, and theatre made it clear we were cut from the same cloth. But most of all, we saw each other’s Faith in Jesus Christ: it has roots as deep as a mountain and strength to withstand the mightiest sea. We recognize that we both stand here today, very much in love with each other, because “there are no what ifs in God’s kingdom.”

So as you receive this invitation to our celebration of love for each other, we ask you to bear witness to our commitment to one another, under God and in front of loved ones. We would love to have you be a part of this journey together.
