If you arrive on Saturday, December 28th, we would love you to join us for church on Sunday morning (the 29th) at 10:30am! The Sunder family has attended SEPC since 1995, and I became a member recently. Please join us for a shared time of worship, prayer, and service!
This was actually our first date! Samuel knows how much I absolutely adore aquariums, so he didn’t hesitate to take me on a fancy first date filled with all the cool aquatic life! One thing that makes this aquarium unique to the others is the two separate buildings and glass triangle shaped roofs: one building is dedicated to Ocean Life while the other to River life. There are also many exotic land animals (such as lemurs) that are fun to see!
This is a Sunder favorite, and dare I say as an Italian…this is the best pizza I ever had. Take my word for it or don’t… try it for yourself! You can’t go wrong with anything you order here, and the atmosphere is very fun. Plus, there’s a pinball museum across the street (Samuel always asks to go).
My Mom & I, Samuel & I, friends & I, we’ve all gone to Clumpies. Founded by Covenant College Alumni, it’s Chattanooga’s most well known ice cream shop. I highly recommend just getting a scoop or two!
Okay coffee gurus, look no further than Chattanooga’s own Goodman's coffee! When I say they are expert coffee roasters, I mean they are expert… seriously, I had to read an article on Goodman’s coffee bean process for my Covenant class. The Goodman’s daughter goes to Covenant, and she told me about her trips when she went to Colombia with her parents to learn about their craft. So seriously. Go try a cup (there are multiple locations).
Although it will be a little chilly when you arrive in Chatt, I recommend taking a stroll down the TN Riverwalk. It’s a 13-mile riverside path which parallels the TN river from Chickamauga Dam to South Chattanooga. Blue lamp posts next to parking lots will guide you along this Riverwalk, and you can stop whenever you want. Samuel and I have enjoyed many free dates walking and talking alongside the Tennessee River (we have yet to walk the full thing, haha).
Again, it will be a little chilly, but this is a massive pedestrian bridge overlooking the Tennessee River! Not only did Samuel, his family, and I walk up and down this bridge, but I had walked it many times with my Mom, my brother, and my Covenant classmates! You won’t meet Covenant students who haven't had this experience. If you want, you can get Clumpies Ice Cream on one side, eat while you walk, and visit the TN Aquarium on the other side! (Yes, winter ice cream walks are a thing, it's fun).
By the time you get here, Rock City will have Christmas lights decorating their grounds! Founded by a Covenant college founder, Rock City is a naturally beautiful walking activity with a gorgeous view overlooking downtown. Especially after Christmas, the place will be decorated with the holiday cheer.
Samuel raves about this place: a nostalgic atmosphere with classic pizza recipes and original ice cream. When you walk into this place, you’ll feel like you’ve been going to this pizza parlor since you were a kid.
