Riverwalk Trail

RiverWalk trail is the ultimate urban/scenic nature walk. Beginning where the Blackwater Creek Trail ends on Jefferson Street, RiverWalk first travels along Riverfront Park through historic downtown Lynchburg. This section of downtown has become a truly unique area, offering visitors a chance to visit a nationally renowned children’s museum, rent a bike, do some hot or vinyasa yoga, take in some art, or simply grab a pizza and a local pint.

Three Roads Brewing Company is opening a new taproom and brewery in the great city of Lynchburg in early 2020. Housed in a former Ford dealership, the Lynchburg taproom will feature the signature, relaxed Three Roads style, complete with indoor and outdoor seating, games, live music, community events, and of course, great beer.

Poplar Forest is Thomas Jefferson’s personal retreat home and plantation located just outside Lynchburg, VA. It is one of only two homes Thomas Jefferson designed for his use. Designated a National Historic Landmark by the Secretary of the Interior, it is an exciting opportunity to experience the award-winning rescue, archaeological exploration, and restoration of one of America’s most important national landmarks. Visitors can experience ongoing archaeological digs, historically accurate restoration, and conservation work in the historic house, and exhibits throughout the house and the grounds that tell the full story of Jefferson, and his family.
