Our wedding takes place just two weeks before Halloween—and we’re so excited to be celebrating in the Halloween Capital of the World!
Salem in October is truly something magical. From haunted history tours and witchy museums to local shops, ghost walks, and pop-up events, there’s no shortage of spooky (and fun) things to explore while you’re here. Whether you’re into history, horror, or just cozy fall vibes, there’s something for everyone.
Bonus: you’ve got free parking—so take full advantage of everything nearby without the stress of finding a spot!
If you’d like to stay at the Hawthorne Hotel, we have a room block with a special discount for our guests. The deadline to book with the discount is September 23, 2025.
To get the booking code, reach out to Bryanna (our resident Halloween queen) at 781-913-2625—she’ll be happy to share the details!
We can’t wait to celebrate and spend this magical weekend with you!
If you’re exploring before or after the big day, here are a few favorite spots to check out (and snap a few Instagram-worthy photos while you’re at it!):
1. The Witch House
The only building in Salem with direct ties to the 1692 witch trials. The black exterior and eerie vibe make it a classic Salem backdrop.
2. Essex Street Pedestrian Mall
Lined with shops, street performers, and Halloween decor—it’s a perfect place for strolling, grabbing souvenirs, and people-watching.
3. Salem Witch Museum
Iconic red-lit windows and dramatic statues outside—great for group photos and spooky vibes even if you don’t go inside.
4. The Ropes Mansion (a.k.a. Allison’s House from Hocus Pocus)
A must-see for movie fans and fall-lovers alike. The garden is beautiful too!
5. Old Burying Point Cemetery
One of the oldest cemeteries in the U.S. with hauntingly beautiful tombstones and historic significance.
6. Hawthorne Hotel
Our venue is a historic icon itself—be sure to take some pictures in the lobby or out front beneath the hanging lanterns.
Bonus Tip:
If you’re dressing up during your visit, you’ll find pop-up photo booths, costumed characters, and Halloween-themed events all over town—so keep your camera ready!
