Canyon Park

Picture of Canyon Park

A high-rope course through hidden verdant gorges, suspended above an emerald green river. The Strait of Cocciglia is a jewel now accessible to all, through zip cables, cable cars and Tibetan bridges that cross the Lima river in its most picturesque and hidden spots. There is more: live the river and try White Water Rafting, the “Soft” Rafting in the waters that flow gently in the canyon.

Lucca is a charming town full of restaurants, bars, churches, squares, and shops, all set within a fully intact medieval wall. Park just outside the walls or drive through one of the city gates and park up just inside. You can’t drive around Lucca, but renting bikes or walking is a great option!

Florence, the capital of Italy’s Tuscany region, is home to many masterpieces of Renaissance art and architecture. One of its most iconic sights is the Duomo, a cathedral with a terracotta-tiled dome engineered by Brunelleschi and a bell tower by Giotto. The Galleria dell'Accademia displays Michelangelo’s “David” sculpture. The Uffizi Gallery exhibits Botticelli’s “The Birth of Venus” and da Vinci’s “Annunciation.”

Explore Barga

Picture of Explore Barga

The ancient town of Barga is situated in the valley of the river Serchio on the edge of the Garfagnana Region. The original historical center of town still remains. The old houses are gathered around the dominant cathedral dating back to before the year 1000. The town seems protected by its surrounding walls and again is a walking-only town. If you want to visit Barga ask any of the Blakemore's for recommendations!

Via Ferrata

For the adventurous people in our families. The surrounding area has tons of Via Ferrata routes and some of the best alpine routes in Italy. It's a great way to safely explore the surrounding mountains. Bryce and Victoria will probably join you if you decide to go on this excursion, so please let us know if anyone would like to do this as a group.

Swim in the Lima River

Picture of Swim in the Lima River

There are several bridges crossing the Lima River in Bagni di Lucca, but Ponte Maggio which crosses to Casoli is probably the prettiest. This is the best spot for swimming in our opinion, however, you can swim anywhere along the river.

Torrente Lima

Picture of Torrente Lima

Famous for its extraordinarily crystal-clear waters, the Torrente Lima has its source near Abetone. In bygone days, the Lima River served human activity, feeding the old mills, fields, paper mills, and hydroelectric plants. Nowadays, the Lima River (or "La Lima" as the locals call it) has become an attraction for nature lovers, fishing, and river activities such as rafting, kayaking, canyoning, aqua trekking and stand up paddle. Nearby you will also find the Canyon Park, an adventure park ideal for viewing the waters of the blue lagoon from above. The Torrente Lima and the Canyon Park are located along the SS12 road, between Bagni di Lucca and Lima.
