James and Brynn met the way two natives from Colorado should, at a Colorado Avalanche Hockey Game at the Coors Banquet Bar. Brynn saw James standing alone at the bar and without any hesitation (she left her friend Lynn behind-sorry) went up to James and started talking to him. James was a bit thrown off, but after talking for a few minutes, having a cold Coors Light and exchanging phone numbers they both felt they made a friend at the game. By the time Brynn got back to her seat, she had a message from James asking “Britt” on a proper first date to Uchi the next weekend. Luckily Brynn corrected James and the two took off from there.

At the time, James was living in Colorado Springs and Brynn was in Denver. The two of them talked all week at all hours of the day about every little detail about themselves and what they were looking for. The weekend finally came for James to drive to Denver for the weekend, Brynn and James were both nervous. When James arrived, he had beautiful flowers and brought the most amazing wine and champagne to celebrate their first weekend together, and first date. Brynn planned a fun weekend with some of her friends to get their thoughts on him. He of course passed with flying colors. Brynn and James continued to date, and make the hour and a half drive until Brynn finally asked James one weekend when he was in Denver the classic “what are we?” James without any hesitation said we are boyfriend and girlfriend, making Brynn a VERY happy girl.

James and Brynn have gone on many dates, crashed each other’s work trips, had fun trips coast to coast and always have the best time together. This past January, the two wanted to take a small staycation for their birthdays and decided to go to their special place called the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. The two had an amazing time celebrating James’ birthday on Friday with an amazing Italian dinner. Saturday, the two spent their special connection day at the spa. They relaxed as a huge snowstorm covered the ground with snow. The two went to pre-dinner drinks where James was on his phone the whole-time, driving Brynn crazy. Little did she know that he was texting with both of their parents telling them the plan for his proposal and our timing. James asked Brynn to walk the lake before they headed to dinner. Brynn thought it was a little early to be walking around the lake, and a little chilly, but she went with it and the two started walking in the snow around the lake. As they were walking, there were teenagers who had just left the hot tub causing Brynn to be very worried and concerned about the girl who kept dropping her towel. Luckily for James, this was a perfect distraction for Brynn to not notice their parents hiding, or be skeptical of what was about to happen. When they got to James’ and Brynn’s favorite spot on the lake James got on one knee and asked Brynn to spend forever with him and be his wife. Brynn said YES, and if you know Brynn, of course did a little dance. Then to her surprise James said there’s also another surprise! He turned Brynn around and she saw her parents and James' parents walking towards them! They all were so excited that the two were finally engaged! That night the two celebrated with their parents at an amazing dinner! The next morning was Brynn’s birthday, so the celebrations continued at the iconic Broadmoor Brunch! The newly engaged couple drove home, and went straight to the couch to take a nap after the most magical and perfect weekend.
