Having met through marching band in 2018, we became friends while in high school. We bonded over our love of music, extreme nerdiness and being active in our churches. After a few months, our friendship slowly became something more and we became high school sweethearts. As many stories go, however, with graduations, life changes and timing, we decided to go our separate ways.
Fast forward to University of Memphis to 2021, post-COVID era, schools are starting to go from online-learning to hybrid classes. I (Celeste) started at UofM in 2020 and was in my first week back in actual in-person classes since the COVID lockdowns. On a day that I took a path I never took before, I caught a glimpse of someone who looked very familiar…
After graduating from Cordova High School, I (Caelin) went on to study engineering at Christian Brothers University. Unexpected circumstances led me to realize that exercise science, not engineering, is what I am passionate about. CBU did not offer it as a degree but lo and behold, U of M did!
Not too long after starting classes there, the building for one of my classes didn’t have air conditioning so they moved us elsewhere. It was the only day I had that class in a different location and it was also the day that from a distance I saw a very familiar girl in a dress with very familiar hair and realized it was Celeste…
So the rest is history! Here we are, years later and getting married! God has brought us here and we know that he allowed everything to work out for our good. We have had so much fun seeing what God has done in our lives over the years. We still love music, still love random facts and having extensive knowledge of only the nerdiest things, lol. But we’ve seen each other grow to be more than those things. We are so grateful to be able to call ourselves best friends.
God is first in our lives and we know He brought us together. We are excited to taking this big step and we’re looking forward to building a life together and to see what God has prepared for us.
