Caitlin and Cole match on a dating app, and they talk briefly about how strange the world has become. Caitlin worries about unemployment; Cole worries about being able to still take a new summer job in Alaska.

Against the odds Cole is off to Alaska, forgetting Caitlin even exists and galavanting with bears. Caitlin spends her summer serving coffee and taking long walks alone.

Cole returns to South Dakota in the fall and very quickly matches with Caitlin on another dating app. They chuckle about it. Not too soon later, they match on yet another dating app. They decide they should probably get a coffee.

Cole and Caitlin have many COVID dates consisting mainly of making food at home and watching old comedies. They bond over Dough Traders pizza and homemade fettuccine alfredo.

Cole goes back to Alaska for another summer at Denali. Caitlin eventually gets to visit and soaks in the sunshine nights and fireweed. She does, however, get lost alone in the woods once, and she never got to see a moose.

Caitlin meets Cole in Portland, Oregon on his return from Alaska to roadtrip home.

They drive the 101 highway up the coast to Seattle, visiting friends and eating all the food along the way.

Cole and Caitlin settle in to their little family with Miss Meredith. They continue to travel, meet friends, and attend all the weddings.

Cole decides to stay in the Lower 48 this summer.

In the midst of a blizzard, snowed in for days, Cole proposes to Caitlin in their living room.
