John and Caitlin grew up on the same island, and both attended the same high school, but due to a 6 year age gap, their paths never crossed until later in life. In 2015, Caitlin started a new job as a hostess at Millers Waterfront in Nags Head. On her very first day, a tall waiter named John approached the hostess stand and asked for a menu. Caitlin passed him a lunch menu, but it was 5:30 PM. John looked at Caitlin and said, “… It’s dinner time”. They were coworkers for a few years until summer of 2017 when Caitlin’s friend Erika (also a bridesmaid), told Caitlin that John had said around her that he thought she was beautiful. Caitlin then approached John at work and said “Are you going to Kelly’s tonight?” ( a local bar.) John showed up at Kelly’s and the rest was history!
