It all started in 2017 when we began attending law school at Santa Clara University. In the first few weeks, we were just two faces in a sea of new students—trying to navigate the world of heavy law textbooks, on-call systems, and, of course, the ever-growing pile of stress. But it was in our small section, surrounded by a small group of special people, that our story began.

We didn’t start as anything more than classmates—just two people who sat next to each other, studied together in the library, and helped each other with assignments. But as the months passed, something began to change. We became best friends, sharing late-night study sessions, supporting each other through the many challenges of being law students, and celebrating small victories. There was a natural ease between us, and slowly, over time, we realized that we were there for each other in ways we never imagined. We laughed together, supported each other, and found comfort in each other’s presence.

It was during an inadvertent first date prompted by two of our friends falling sick (in part already on the way to dinner and a movie) that we first started to feel that spark—an unexpected but undeniable connection. Shortly after, we realized that we were more than friends and, after months of growing feelings and some well-timed advice from a friend (thanks Jamie!), we took the leap and started dating.

What followed was a journey filled with adventure, love, and shared dreams for the future. From navigating the challenges of our final exams, to preparing for the bar exam, to celebrating each other’s successes and beginning our careers as lawyers, our bond only grew stronger with time. In the face of some profoundly personal obstacles where we needed each other in more ways than we could have ever anticipated, we found what we always hoped we would in love - A partner.

Almost eight years later, we are now standing at the threshold of our biggest adventure yet—our wedding day! We’ve built a life together, one that is rooted in mutual respect, endless laughter, and shared nerdiness. A love that started in the halls of law school has grown into something incredibly valuable to us both, and we couldn't be happier.
