Antone and Caitlin met in the Spring of 2016, the two were working in the same Ellicott City shopping center. Tony was at Starbucks in the morning and Petco in the afternoons, Caitlin would get her coffee from him before work and lurk in the fish department on her lunch breaks. After casually chatting about animals and buying a few lizards and snakes from Tony, the two finally decided to hang out. They bonded over all things nerdy or scaly, Caitlin had a huge crush on Tony and it seemed like they had a lot of potential… aaand life took them in completely different directions. Years went by and they had both been up and down some winding roads. One night, Caitlin sent a message to David asking if he could pass her contact info along because she “had a fish tank question..” The two caught up and chatted here and there over the next few months. They decided to finally get together and meet up for drinks and conversation. Unsure if it was a date or not they treaded carefully.. it was definitely a date. After a night full of laughter, Caitlin asked if Tony would be interested in joining her as a plus one for her sister’s wedding.. it was at that point he realized “I don’t think she actually had a fish question..” And much like the Cyanobacteria that was DEFINITELY blooming in her tank, so was their new relationship. Tony met Caitlin’s two daughters and quickly began to fill a hole in all three of their hearts. She may have made the first move, but he was the first to propose (his was sweet and intimate, her’s was silly and surrounded by sharks). Their story as a family is just beginning to unfold, but it is certainly bound to be a great adventure.
