Since 2011 Charles Schwab Field has hosted the College World Series in Downtown Omaha. One of the best sporting events in the world (Cal's words) it's worth a walk around the stadium. While there, you're just a stone's throw away from a few other attractions on this list!
Located between Omaha's Old Market and Downtown Omaha, the Gene Leahy Mall is a wonderful spot to spend time. With reflecting pools, fireplaces, outdoor seating and artwork it's a beautiful outdoor space to walk around or take photos. It's connected to the RiverFront and the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, two more attractions on this list!
Opened in August of 2023 the RiverFront is one of our favorite spots in Omaha. The walking trails will take you around a lake, a skate ribbon, and to multiple photo opportunities, including an overlook above the Missouri River. The park connects to the Gene Leahy Mall, the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, and the Kiewit Luminarium.
The "Bob", as it's known, is Cal's favorite spot in Omaha. Fun fact, it's where Marlo's brother and sister-in-law got engaged! The Bob is a beautiful pedestrian bridge that shoots across the Missouri River connecting Iowa and Nebraska. Walk across it and take a photo with one leg in Iowa and one in Nebraska - you can't miss the marking!
The Old Market is an incredibly popular spot for diners, drinkers, shoppers and all people! Walk the cobblestone streets and pop into some boutiques, grab a cocktail at a lounge or a beer at a brewery. The area is on the National Register of Historic Places as a historic district.
Opened in 2023 the Kiewit Luminarium is a science museum located on the Missouri River. It's easy to lose track of time in the Luminarium with hundreds of interactive exhibits. If you're worried it's going to be tailored to kids...don't be! Everyone will LOVE the Luminarium. The building connects to the Bob, the RiverFront, and Gene Leahy Mall.
For fans of history: overlooking a large green space nestled up against Dodge Street, Memorial Park is a beautiful area with monuments dedicated to those from Nebraska who served in the Armed Forces. It's a beautiful, powerful spot.
This one needs no description! In West Omaha try your hand at TopGolf! Keep in mind you need to reserve "bays".
An old-school bowling alley located near the reception venue Chop's is a popular spot for Marlo and her friends! If you plan to go make sure to call ahead and see if they have open bowling. Things to know: parking is limited, it's cash only, they serve alcohol but do not serve food.
If you're into gambling then take the very short trip into Council Bluffs, Iowa to visit Harrah's. For our Wisconsin friends: It's no Oneida but it'll do.
Located in the beautiful Dundee neighborhood Pitch is a favorite of Cal and Marlo. They've taken anyone and everyone to this restaurant. From pizza, pasta, to wings you can't go wrong. We recommend ordering their fries as an appetizer. Pro tip: make sure to get all three sauces that come with it!
Ask Cal and Marlo's friends their favorite spot to get appetizers and it's likely you'd hear "Tap House" more than once. Located downtown this restaurant has the best pretzel bites AND Wisconsin cheese curds in Omaha.
Dubbed "the best happy hour in Omaha" by Cal & Marlo's good friends Zach Williamson & Bella Caracta, Hiro88 is a popular Sushi restaurant just one block west of the Old Market. We recommend their spicy edamame.
One of Cal and Marlo's favorite spots to eat and drink before a night out, Rocco's is just feet away from Charles Schwab Field. Pro tip: plan ahead because the restaurant does not split checks.
If you're in the mood for a beautiful, quiet space you can sit and enjoy a cocktail make a stop at the Cottonwood. It's a beautiful, downtown hotel with a great atmosphere.
Located in the Old Market, Berry & Rye is where Marlo and Cal went the first night they hung out. It's in a beautiful building with great mood lighting, comfortable seating and high-end cocktails.
Lefty's is a sports bar directly next door to Rocco's and one block west of Charles Schwab Field. A popular spot for Cal & Marlo it's no different than any other sports bar other than the fact it's been frequented by the couple and their friends many times.
A POPULAR and famous spot for many guests at this wedding, Darby's is a South Omaha staple. If you need the "low-down" on the bar find our friend Yankee, he's a great spokesperson as it's his family's spot!
Another popular spot for many of our wedding guests, Donohue's is located near the Hanscom Park neighborhood. It's an old, charming bar with cold drinks and good people.
Located in the Old Market "The Dub" is an Irish pub located in the basement of its building. It has a lot of charm and not much else. It's an old, divey, Irish Pub but a popular spot among the locals!
If you prefer a brewery take a trip to Brickway in the Old Market. They brew all beer in-house. Pro-tip: they do not sell food just bar snacks.
Located across the street from 7 Burlington Station, CTRL is a coffee and cereal bar. Go in, grab a card, and fill out which cereal, which milk, and which toppings you want. It's a fun, cute morning experience!
