Caleb and Abby first met in high school, introduced by their late friend, Kavron Carr. Kavron had always been the glue that brought different people together, often with more chaos than he probably intended.
Back then, Abby saw Caleb as the quintessential bad boy. Caleb, on the other hand, saw Abby as a goody two-shoes.
Their lives took different paths after high school graduation in 2015 and they grew apart. Caleb joined the Air Force, seeking structure and adventure, while Abby pursued her passion for field hockey at Christopher Newport University. Four years passed, and they both grew in ways that would have made their teenage selves roll their eyes.
In the fall/winter of 2019, fate decided to have a little fun. Both happened to be at a local gym in Williamsburg.
Their reunion was as surprising as it was serendipitous. Conversations flowed effortlessly, and the years apart seemed to melt away. They quickly discovered that the qualities they once judged in each other had evolved into traits they now admired. Caleb’s rebellious spirit had matured into a steadfast determination, while Abby’s disciplined nature had blossomed into a balanced approach to life.
In 2021 as they welcomed their beautiful baby girl, and now, as they get ready for their wedding day, they can’t help but laugh at the twists and turns of their story. They remember Kavron and the unlikely bond he had sparked between them. Every moment leading up to the wedding, surrounded by family and friends, Caleb and Abby are reassured that their journey—marked by growth, separation, and reunion—has always been meant to be and they are ready to embark on a new chapter together as husband and wife.
