Hercule (Herk) and Calla met during the pandemic on a dating app. They matched on the dating app, Hinge, on November 5, 2020 on a Thursday while he was flying from DC to Haiti for a funeral. Herk called Calla during his layover in MIA airport to talk to her and get to know each other. They never got off the phone over the weekend and Herk later disclosed the funeral he was attending was for his mother who passed away. He was flying back to DC on Monday and upon Calla's mothers' approval, Calla decided to meet Herk at the DCA airport - after all, where else is safer than the nation capitol’s airport?

They have never left each others’ side since then. Herk proposed on a sailboat in St. Thomas during the sunset on Calla's 30th birthday on August 8, 2022 and had a civil ceremony via Zoom on October 7, 2022 so all Herk's family in Haiti could witness our love. We were both in grad school at Johns Hopkins University getting our MBAs, so everything was done as simple as possible.

As they enter a new phase in their love story, they are now ready to celebrate their joy and new adventures with all of their family and friends.
