Q + A

Venue questions

Where is this shindig happening?

Both our ceremony and our reception are taking place at The Brickyard on Main, 135 S Main St, Marion, OH 43302.

Will the wedding be inside or outside?

Our venue offers an outside space that we plan to use for the ceremony (send good vibes for a beautiful fall afternoon!). If it rains we may change things up and stay inside. After the ceremony, the outside space will transform into another hangout space to get some fresh air!

What is the wedding day itinerary?

The ceremony will begin at 4:30 p.m. Please plan to arrive around or just before 4 p.m. so you can find a parking space, pick your seat, and enjoy the pre-ceremony music that we've hand picked. Those staying at the hotel may grab a ride with the Arms of an Angel shuttle, which we'll be calling the Knight Bus for the evening. The shuttle runs from 3:15-4:15 p.m. between My Place Hotel and The Brickyard and again from 9-11 p.m.. Cocktail hour will start between 5 and 5:30 with dinner, special events, and dancing to follow. The evening will wrap up around 10 p.m.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Yes! Our venue is handicap accessible from the front door to the back door, and everywhere in between.

Dining & Drinking

What type of food will be served at your wedding?

Hors d'oeuvres: Apple Honey Brie Crostini & Cranberry meatballs. Dinner: Apple Sage Pork, Mushroom Pesto Pasta, Glazed Baby Carrots, Roasted Potatoes, Salad and Bread. Dinner will be served buffet style. Tables will be released.

Will there be an open bar?

We'll have an open bar with beer and wine selections and two signature cocktails that will reflect the bride and groom. Spirits used in these two drinks will be available for other mixed drinks. If you prefer a different kind of alcohol you'll need to have a card or cash on hand. Please remember to treat our bartenders nicely too as they keep the party going! No outside alcohol is permitted, please be respectful of this policy.

Transportation

Where can I park?

Downtown’s main parking lot is diagonal right behind The Brickyard. In all, there are 229 public parking spaces within two blocks. There’s also a zero entry alley one building away, allowing for convenient drop-off.

Can I leave my vehicle parked overnight?

Yes! Free overnight parking is available. If you're leaving impaired, please go with a sober driver and collect your vehicle the next day!

Is there transportation to and from the hotel?

Yep! We are working with Wings of an Angel for wedding transportation services to and from My Place Hotels in Marion. Transportation to the venue is available from 3:15-4:15 p.m. Transportation back to the venue will run from 9-11 p.m.

During the week Wings of an Angel serves as a transportation service for children and adults with disabilities in the Marion area. Their transportation services for weddings works as a fundraiser for their program. We're really excited to support this program and hope it will be a value to our guests as well.

Lodging

I'm coming from out of town, where should I stay?

We have established a hotel block at My Place Hotel in Marion at a discounted rate of $109 per night. Feel free to book under our block or shop around for deals at other hotels, or on Airbnb and Vbro! All the details about My Place Hotel are available under the Travel tab on our website.

Plus ones and children

Can I bring a plus one?

Please check your invitation! We'd love to be able to invite everyone to celebrate with us, but we have to keep our wedding budget and venue capacity in mind too. We promise to put you at a dinner table with people you know and love. Please stick to your invitation and reach out to one of us if you have more questions!

Can I bring my kids?

While we cannot wait to celebrate with you, and we love your little ones, we kindly request a child-free wedding. Please refer to the guests listed on your invitation for specifics. Note that a very select group of children will be joining us for the day. These are children that we have intentionally invited because of our relationship with them. Please be kind to our young guests and their parents. If you have further questions about this, reach out to one of us!

Attire

But what will I wear?

We want you to be comfortable at our wedding. The dress code is dressy casual attire. We're pulling in Practical Magic and Herbology vibes for the wedding. If you'd like to join us, think rich emerald greens and sage, navy blue, cranberry and orange, and terracotta!

What does dressy casual attire mean? We were confused too. Here's some tips: www.theknot.com/content/what-to-wear-dressy-casual

Other stuff

Where should I bring/send wedding gifts?

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with a gift, you can have it delivered to our home at 338 W. Wyandot Ave., Upper Sandusky, OH 43351. A wedding card box will be available at our reception. We are working on our registry. Once it's completed it will be available under the registry tab of our website.

Am I allowed to take photos of the ceremony?

No! We're working with a fabulous photographer who will capture the ceremony for us. We've invited you, because we want you to share this special moment with us, not because we want to check out your cute phone case! We'll share the photos with you later, we promise. The reception is a different story - take pictures, post them (if we look cute), tag us, and use our wedding hashtag!

What is your wedding hashtag?

#MagicallyMcMillion (would you expect anything less?)
