Wedding Events

To Sifnos

The island of Sifnos is only accessible by ferry. There are a few different options for you as you plan your travels. You can fly into Athens and ferry from the Athen's port (Port of Piraeus) directly into Sifnos Port (Kamares). This ferry trip will take 2.5 hours or more, depending on the type of ferry you book. Alternatively, you may fly into a surrounding island via Athens, such as Paros or Milos. If you choose this option, you will be taking an additional flight but reducing the duration of your ferry. For example, ferries from Milos or Paros to Sifnos are around 40-50 minutes. We suggest booking your ferry tickets well in advance, as during peak season the best routes tend to sell out quickly and/or increase in price the more last minute you book. To your accommodation

Because Sifnos is a very small island with limited resources, it's important to plan ahead. Once you arrive at the main Sifnos port (Kamares), there are a few options for you to get around the island and to your accommodations: 1. Taxi. While Sifnos does have taxi's they can be limited. There will likely be some waiting outside of the port, however, you may need to call one. Call to reserve: 0030 22840 31216, 0030 694 4742652, or 0030 694 4696409. 2. Rent a car, motorbike, or e-bike. Be mindful that most car rentals are manual and the roads can be quite windy and sharp. We will be providing transportation to and from wedding events with a few pick-up and drop-off locations. Please head over to the 'accommodations' tab to learn more about the most convenient areas to stay. If you do book your stay outside of these areas, please let us know and we can arrange alternative transportation options.

Getting there

With wedding festivities beginning a few days before the big day, we hope that you can join us on Sifnos (edit island) from August 23 to August 27. As you begin planning your travel, we wanted to share a few accommodation options for your to look at, including where we will be staying.

Accomodations

With wedding festivities beginning a few days before the big day, we hope that you can join us on Sifnos from Tuesday, August 25, to Friday, August 28.

As you begin planning your travel, we wanted to share a few accommodation options for you to consider. Please note that these are simply recommendations based on strong reviews and their convenient proximity to our wedding events. There are plenty of other options to explore, including Airbnbs and VRBOs. We highly recommend staying near Platis Gialos or Apollonia, as these areas offer the easiest access to our venues. We’ll be providing guest transportation to wedding events with designated pick-up and drop-off spots in both locations. Note: August is high-season in Greece, meaning it's extremely busy with tourists and hotels tend to book up quickly. Unfortunately, due to this, we are unable able to arrange hotel blocks. We strongly recommend you book your accommodations as soon as you can to lock in the best rates and locations.

Tucked away in the heart of the Cyclades, Sifnos is an island known for its whitewashed villages, golden beaches, and incredible food scene. Often described as the “foodie island” of Greece, Sifnos is home to some of the country’s best traditional tavernas and charming seaside restaurants. With a free day in between the Welcome Dinner and the Wedding, we hope you can explore the island in anyway you choose to! Below are some recommendations for how to spend the day.

Beaches

Platis Gialos - the beach closest to our venues and likely your accommodations. Check out Lost Bay cocktail bar for drinks, food, and sun beds. Vathi - larger beach and less crowded. Sun beds, food, and drink options available. On the beach there is the beautiful church of Taxiarches. Cheronissos - father on the northern end of the island, this is a beautiful fishing village with fresh seafood and traditional Greek cuisine. More difficult to get there but beautiful swimming waters.

Popular Sites

Church of the Seven Martyrs - a cliffside church with beautiful views, accessible by a scenic hike. Appollonia - The main town on Sifnos, with charming restaurants, shops, and whitewashed streets. Sifnos trails - Sifnos has 19 official hiking paths, some dating as far back as 3,000BC.
