The island of Sifnos is only accessible by ferry. There are a few different options for you as you plan your travels. You can fly into Athens and ferry from the Athen's port (Port of Piraeus) directly into Sifnos Port (Kamares). This ferry trip will take 2.5 hours or more, depending on the type of ferry you book.

Alternatively, you may fly into a surrounding island via Athens, such as Paros or Milos. If you choose this option, you will be taking an additional flight but reducing the duration of your ferry. For example, ferries from Milos or Paros to Sifnos are around 40-50 minutes.

We suggest booking your ferry tickets well in advance, as during peak season the best routes tend to sell out quickly and/or increase in price the more last minute you book.

Because Sifnos is a very small island with limited resources, it's important to plan ahead. Once you arrive at the main Sifnos port (Kamares), there are a few options for you to get around the island and to your accommodations:

1. Taxi. While Sifnos does have taxi's they can be limited. There will likely be some waiting outside of the port, however, you may need to call one.

2. Rent a car, motorbike, or e-bike. Be mindful that most car rentals are manual and the roads can be quite windy and sharp. This option is recommended for only those who are very comfortable behind the wheel in these conditions.

3. Local Bus. Sifnos does have local buses with stops in nearly all the major hubs.
