Somehow I instantly knew he was talking about Sean. I called back after my parents left and sure enough, it was Mr. Sean Moore. It’s funny because Sean and I would come to find out that we had been in the same place together multiple times with tons of mutual friends, but we had never said two words to each other. Go figure.

But I gave Lynn the greenlight to give Sean my number after I asked a few questions, of course, and was excited to see what would happen next! Sean didn’t waste any time. He called me that night but I was out with friends, so he had to resort to a text message (my bad!) To be fair it was a really good text! I loved how straightforward he was and made plans to call him back. The next day we talked on the phone just long enough to flirt a little and laugh a lot and officially agree to a first date :)

A week later Sean drove down to Daytona to pick me up at my house, and I could tell that we were both a little nervous but totally trying to play it cool. It’s safe to say the ice was sufficiently broken when he almost drove us into oncoming traffic on the way to lunch. I went from cool calm and collected to shouting “YOU CAN'T TURN HERE” real quick. We went to get tacos at Tia Coris for lunch, and truth be told I still have nooo idea what he said during this part of the date lol (sorry babe!) I just remember thinking “who is this guy?” and how bright blue his eyes were. I was surprised when we got back in the car and he looked at me with a smile and said, “Are you ready for the next part of our date?” I was surprised because I thought we would just go to lunch, talk a little, and then go home…silly me. The date lasted a casual 13 hours and we spent the day just talking and laughing and really enjoying each other’s company. We shared so many sweet moments that day, and, after Sean said goodnight, I remember thinking “this is the man I’ve been praying for.” It was so late by the end of our date that he ended up staying the night at a friend’s house, so, naturally, I asked him to breakfast the next morning! By the time he left to head back to Jacksonville the next day, we had pretty much had three dates already (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) lol.

From that moment on we were both all-in. We called and facetimed every day the following week as Sean started his new job at TQL and as I helped lead a week-long discipleship project in Daytona, and that weekend Sean drove back down, knocked on my door, and officially asked me to be his girlfriend before I could even say, “hey handsome.”

We both knew early on that this was different, and not even a month after that first date we knew that we wanted to be with each other for the rest of our lives. I’m sure we may have freaked out our family and friends a little bit, but, hey, when you know you know. And we knew.

From the very beginning Sean has made me feel seen and loved in a way I have never experienced before. He has laughed with me, danced with me, prayed with me, and cried with me. He continually points me back to our Savior and makes the love of Christ sweeter and more tangible to my often fickle heart. He is my lover and my friend and I can’t wait to finally marry him on July 16th!!
