Frequently Asked Questions

You have questions, we have answers!

When is the RSVP deadline?

We kindly request that you RSVP by January 5th, 2024. If you do not RSVP by that date, we will assume that you are not able to attend.

What should I do if I cannot make it?

You will be dearly missed! If you are not able to attend, please let us know as soon as possible by RSVP’ing ‘no’ so that we can plan accordingly. Thank you!

Can I bring a date?

We have addressed the invitations to the guests that we are able to seat. If your date was not named on your invitation, then we unfortunately cannot host your +1. We appreciate your understanding!

Are children invited?

We love little ones, but due to several constraints, we are only able to accommodate children that are listed on your invitation. We hope you enjoy the opportunity for a fun night out, and we thank you in advance for making other childcare arrangements!

How do I get to the venue?

For those planning to drive, our venue has plenty of parking. If you intend to take advantage of our open bar, The Cheney Place is easily accessible by Uber/Lyft, as it is a less than 10 minute ride from our room block at the Amway Grand Plaza hotel and other accommodations in downtown Grand Rapids, MI. The Amway Grand Plaza hotel can also assist you with calling a cab; please leave yourself sufficient time with this request. A shuttle will be provided starting at 9:00 PM to transport guests from the venue back to the Amway Grand Plaza hotel.

What should I wear?

Our dress code is Black Tie Optional. We look forward to hosting an evening celebration, and request that guests attend in tuxedos, dark suits, floor-length dresses or jumpsuits, or midi dresses or jumpsuits. We ask that women not wear shades of white.

Who should I call if I have any day-of questions?

Please contact the Master and Mistress of Ceremony, Camille’s Uncle Dan and Aunt Corrin. Their information will be provided on this page the day-of the wedding. Camille and Alex will not be reachable.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

You may share your dietary restrictions with us during the RSVP process. Our caterer aims to respect these restrictions with alternative entrees provided on a case-by-case basis.

What is the smoking policy?

No smoking of any kind is permitted inside of The Cheney Place. We face numerous consequences if this policy is violated. However, there is a designated smoking area outside, and our venue staff would be happy to guide you there.
