Our Wedding

Our love story is a modern online dating tale—with a twist. My best friend and Shauntá’s sister matched us. Lol. When people know you well, they make magic happen.-We bonded instantly over our shared love of sandy beaches, long walks by the ocean, and—of course—Janet Jackson. After chatting through the app for a few weeks, we finally had our first real conversation on New Year’s Eve 2022.Our first date followed on January 6, 2023, and by March 3, 2023, Shauntá asked me to be her girlfriend.-From the very beginning, we felt guided by spirit. We’re both spiritual, and we believe our angels were surrounding us with love, protection, and encouragement every step of the way.-Over the next two years, we traveled to countless cities to visit family and friends, attended unforgettable concerts to see our queen Ms. Janet, explored Mexico, and eventually took the big step of moving in together.-Shauntá proposed to me on my birthday after we saw the Michael Jackson Cirque du Soleil show. With my out-of-state family in town, it was the perfect moment. She was adorably nervous—especially after letting me change out of my heels right before she got down on one knee!-We chose our wedding date, 4.4.26 because take 6-2 = 4 from 2026 so you get 444. And most beautifully, 444 represents divine protection, love, guidance, and unwavering support—everything we wish for our marriage.-Thank you for being part of our journey. We can’t wait to celebrate with you—and meet you on the dance floor!

I’ve been blessed to know Candis for over 30 years, since we met at UCSB freshman camp in 1995 and became instant besties. What started as a college friendship turned into a lifelong sisterhood—we’ve been roommates, confidantes, and partners through every season of life.

As the godmom to my two kids (aka Ya Ya), Candis has been present for so many of my family’s milestones. And fun fact: I also started the introduction and online conversation between her and Shauntá. I was lucky enough to witness their connection from day one and watch it grow into the beautiful love they share today.

Standing beside you as Maid of Honor feels like a full-circle moment. I couldn’t be happier to celebrate this next chapter with these two.  Thank you for letting me be part of this magic—now let’s get married!

I'm Andrea, Shauntá's charismatic, stylist, sometimes mean younger sister.  We've shared a lifelong bond, from exchanging letters as children to always staying connected into our adulthood.
In fact, I helped Shauntá find the love of her life by playing matchmaker in a fun and memorable way!
