Think elegant yet breathable—flowy dresses, lightweight fabrics, and tropical vibes. For gentlemen, linen shirts, dress pants or chinos, and loafers or dressy sandals are perfect. No need for jackets or ties (unless you love the look)!
The ceremony will be on brick, so heels are totally fine if that’s your style. For the cocktail hour, reception, and dance floor, we’ll be on packed sand, which is firmer than soft beach sand but still best suited for wedges, block heels, sandals, or barefoot chic. Skip the stilettos and wear whatever keeps you comfortable—we just want you to dance the night away and have an amazing time!
The Riviera Maya sun is beautiful but warm! Light, airy fabrics in soft or tropical colors will keep you feeling fresh. If you’re prone to sunburn, a stylish hat or a light shawl might come in handy.

Great news—you do not need a visa to enter Mexico!
BUT… if you have a layover in the U.S. you’ll need an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization).
Important ESTA Info:
- Required even for transit
- Apply at least 72 hours before departure
- Valid for two years (or until your passport expires)
- Allows multiple U.S. entries
Make sure to check your travel route and apply in advance to avoid any airport surprises!
While enjoying paradise in Mexico, please avoid drinking tap water. To stay safe and hydrated, keep these tips in mind:
- Drink only bottled, filtered, or purified water. The resort will provide safe drinking water, so stick to sealed bottled water or filtered dispensers.
- Skip the tap water – Avoid drinking water straight from the tap, including in your hotel room.
- Be cautious with ice. Only consume ice if you’re sure it’s made from purified water (most resorts and restaurants use filtered ice, but it’s always good to check).
- Brushing teeth. Use bottled or purified water instead of tap water to brush your teeth.
- Fruits & Salads. Fresh produce washed in tap water can sometimes cause stomach issues. Stick to restaurants that use purified water for food prep.
Your resort should take precautions, but it’s always best to be mindful. When in doubt, go bottled!
Tipping is optional but highly appreciated for great service! While the resort is all-inclusive, gratuities can enhance your experience.

Tipping Tips

- Hand tips directly to staff.
- Tip extra for exceptional service!
Tipping is never required but is a great way to show appreciation at the resort!
Where to Exchange Money
- Best Option: Use a bank ATM (Santander, BBVA, Scotiabank) for the best rates. Avoid standalone ATMs.
- Before You Travel: Order pesos from your bank for fair rates.
- At the Airport: Exchange a small amount if needed, but rates are higher.
- Avoid: Hotel exchange desks, street kiosks, and paying in USD (vendors round up prices).
We’ll have emergency kits available if needed—just reach out! Your welcome bag may include samples, but we highly recommend bringing these items, as mosquitoes are present (the resort is in the jungle!) and sunscreen is pricey at the hotel.
- Mosquitoes come out in the evenings—pack bug spray for protection.
- Wipes are a great travel-friendly option!
- Bring reef-safe sunscreen—it’s expensive at the resort!
- Avoid spray cans, as they may be confiscated at the airport.
We’ll have extras, but it’s good to bring:
- Pain relievers, antacids, motion sickness meds
- Electrolyte packets, Band-Aids, aloe vera
- Pepto-Bismol or Imodium (just in case of stomach issues)
If you’re planning to dine at the à la carte restaurants, reservations are highly recommended, as they fill up quickly. You can make them as soon as you arrive or through the resort app if available. Walk-ins may be possible, but wait times can be long. If you don’t have a reservation, the buffet is always open with plenty of options.
While the resort has WiFi, it can sometimes be spotty in certain areas or slower during peak times. If you plan to explore off-resort, travel before/after, or just want to ensure reliable connection, here are your best options:
Check with your phone carrier – Many U.S. providers (T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon) offer affordable daily international roaming plans ($5–$10 per day). Australian and European carriers may require pre-arranged travel plans, so check before departure.
Use an eSIM like Airalo or Holafly – These allow you to buy an instant digital SIM with data-only service (no new phone number needed). Great for travelers who don’t want to swap physical SIMs.
Purchase a local SIM – Available at OXXO (convenience stores) or Telcel/MovieStar retailers after arrival. This is often the most affordable option but requires an unlocked phone and may involve some Spanish for setup.
While no vaccines are required for entry into Mexico, you may want to consider certain vaccinations, especially if you're traveling before or after the wedding to other regions. According to the CDC, the following vaccines may be recommended:
- Typhoid – For those eating in local areas or traveling beyond the resort.
- Hepatitis A – Recommended for all travelers to Mexico.
- Hepatitis B – If you haven’t been vaccinated, it's good protection against contaminated food, water, or medical procedures.
- Rabies – Only necessary for extended outdoor adventures or animal encounters (unlikely at the resort).
To help prevent travel-related stomach issues, it may be beneficial to start taking a probiotic or prebiotic supplementa few weeks before the trip. This can help strengthen gut health and reduce the risk of food sensitivities.
While the resort takes precautions, it’s always good to be prepared! If you have any concerns, check with your doctor about recommended vaccines or health prep before traveling.
