We met at Oklahoma State University in undergrad, but the real beginning of our story happened the day I saw Robby walk out of the infamous Field of Dreams college party house- FOD for the fellow OSU alumni. Something in me just went, "Well.. that's the one". Maybe it was fate. Maybe it was the beer. But it stuck. At the annual end of school year country music festival at OSU (Calf Fry), he asked me to dance. One dance turned into a spark, but then summer came and we went our separate ways for a few months. When we reunited back in Stillwater, OK, it felt effortless- like we were picking up a story that had already been written. The rest was history. From there, life got busy in the best way. We went from OSU vet school while Robby worked in Hobbs, New Mexico to Oakdale, California, where I started my career as an equine veterinarian and surgeon. Eventually, we settled in Manhattan, Kansas as I finish my large animal surgical residency and Robby a successful cattle operations manager at River Creek Farms. The proposal was one for the books. Robby popped the question during a snowstorm in Breckenridge, Colorado.. in a horse-drawn carriage. It was chaotic, freezing, and absolutely perfect. From FOD to our love of hoofed creatures to blizzards, our story has had a little bit of everything. And now we can't wait to celebrate the next chapter with all of you!
