We met on Hinge in June of 2019. Cara was on campus for the summer doing research, and Samuel was finishing his first year of residency. Sparks flew right away, and a spontaneous first date turned into three dates by the end of the first week.

Despite Samuel's busy residency schedule, we were inseparable by the end of the summer.

The next year was a tough one: covid forced us into long distance for a few months before Cara moved back up to Boston after graduation. While Samuel was working at Boston Medical Center during the pandemic, Cara worked as a field organizer in the 2020 election. We were so excited to go vote together.

By the summer of 2022, we had officially moved in together in our first apartment in Boston.

We've been so lucky to celebrate so many of our loved ones over the years!

We love to travel together and explore New England on the weekends. For the last three years, we've road tripped through Vermont and New Hampshire every year for fall foliage! (We let our car climb Mt. Washington for us, though.)

In May of 2023, we took our biggest trip yet and visited Seattle and Washington's three national parks: Mt. Rainier, Olympic, and North Cascades. Here we are at the Hoh Rainforest living out Cara's lifelong Twilight fantasies!

On August 13th, Samuel asked Cara to marry him—and we are so excited for the next phase of our life together!

While we plan for our big day, we love spending every day together and continuing to take adventures side-by-side.
