Thursday, September 24th - Arrival! Arrive in the beautifully scenic mountain town of Blue Ridge, Georgia. We recommend taking the evening to settle in, explore the town, and enjoy a quiet night before the festivities begin. Note: Restaurants/bars close early here in the Blue Ridge Mountains...it's a Southern thing. If you're planning a later arrival, let us know and we can provide options for dinner. Friday, September 25th - Wedding Day! Our celebration will take place at Big Creek Bend, a 3000 sf modern cabin, sitting above Big Creek - a beautiful trout fed noisy creek, that 'bends' as it enters the 10 acre property. Big Creek Bend was built on raw land by my dad and stepmama over a period of 4 years (they have lots of stories to tell). Transportation will be provided to and from the Hampton Inn Blue Ridge. Actual timing for pickup will be shared once details are finalized, however, we are planning for the ceremony to take place around 4pm. The trip to Big Creek Bend takes less then 30 minutes. There will be a happy hour with appetizers prior to the ceremony. A catered dinner of authentic southern BBQ will be served after the ceremony. Many more details will be provided as plans are finalized. We can’t wait to celebrate with you! Saturday, September 26th - Vineyard Tour! Plans are in the works for a group vineyard tour! Lasting approximately 5 hours, and visiting 3 local vineyards via chartered small buses. Cost is $75 per person and will provide, a laid-back way to enjoy each others company. North Georgia is not just famous for its apple orchards and Cider Houses, but also for it's vineyards. The foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains are ideal for vineyards due to their high-altitude, well-drained soil, and temperate mountain climate, similar to southern European regions. Note: if you are interested in taking this tour, please let us know asap. Late summer can be a busy time and we will need to book transportation well ahead:) Sunday, September 27th - Departures.Thank you for being part of such a meaningful weekend, and for making the effort on our behalf! We appreciate it all very much. If you need help with transportation to an airport, please don't hesitate to ask.

Mountain Formal

What Does That Mean— dressy, and outdoors friendly Big Creek Bend is surrounded by wooden decking, gravel pathways, a rushing creek and several busy mountain springs. It sits on Fox Mountain, halfway up the mountains 4000' peak. The Rich Mountain Wilderness surrounds the property - all of which is encompassed by the vast Chattahoochee National Forest. Footwear: We recommend you avoid any narrow heels, such as stilettos, as they're likely to sink into the grass or gravel around the property. Block heels, wedges, and dressy flats will keep you stable on uneven paths:)

Layers: Mountain temperatures can drop after sunset, even in summer. We recommend you bring a wrap/shawl or light jacket. The ceremony will be held on Big Creek Bend's wide covered porch. Dinner and dancing will take place under a peaked wedding tent. Since weather can be unpredictable (the property is located in a temperate rainforest), please note that at all times, you will be under some sort of cover should it rain! Color Choices: September at Big Creek Bend is a season of vibrant greens mixed with the hint of early fall colors. If you have an outfit that falls within a similar color palette, please feel free to wear it! Ultimately, our goal is for you to be comfortable, to relax, and have a blast!

What To Wear

We have arranged a room block of 10 double queens + 10 kings. This is an extremely busy time of year (for weddings as well as tourists), we therefore strongly suggest you book as soon as able. They will sell out. We chose this hotel (as opposed to the only other:)) because of it's location, rooftop bar, and comfort. It's a lovely place, and it's also smack bang in the middle of town. Ton's of fun stores to check out, as well as places to grab a bite and a drink. Any questions - let us know!

This is strictly 21+, we aren't allowed to take any children to ROO, since it's the only vineyard with food for purchase, and considering the nature of the tour, we felt we needed to include it. Thank you for understanding:) For those with little ones in tow, an afternoon out in Ellijay or Blue Ridge would make an amazing treat! Please let us know if you need any help with plans? The tour is approximately 5 hours, we will arrange pickup for early lunchtime (tbd) at the Hampton Inn, Blue Ridge. Roo Vineyard serves food. The other two allow guests to bring along their own food. All serve local cider and beer. The cost is for transportation only. We will need to book the vans asap, so please let us know if you want to come along for the fun! This is a great way to see the surrounding countryside, and experience some Southern hospitality!
