Our Wedding

Conner's first time traveling out of the country ended up being a trip that will be forever remembered, but for even more than just the beauty of&nbsp; Europe.&nbsp;&nbsp;TSA and a nine&nbsp;hour flight to Copenhagen was enough to have anybody nervous. Conner had his mind on the engagement ring that was being smuggled through international security of three different Scandinavian countries. For almost two full weeks Conner, Carissa and her parents (Debbie and Archie)&nbsp; traveled via bus, barge, plane&nbsp;and gondola touring the countries of Denmark and Sweden. Finally, the quartet arrived in the final country on the itinerary, Norway.&nbsp;

Day three of&nbsp;the agenda consisted of a short troll-cart ride to the crest of a Norwegian mountain and a light hike to a glacier lake. The surrounding greenery and waterfalls were a sight to behold and Conner knew the time to ask Carissa that&nbsp;very important question&nbsp;would be just perfect in this breathtaking spot. When the troll-cart arrived at its destination and the short hike began, Conner put his plan into action. As Carissa and Archie enjoyed the sights&nbsp;and sounds of the hike, Conner raced up the mountain to scout the views of the destination, the Briksdal glacier. With the&nbsp;engagement ring still safe&nbsp;in his&nbsp;pocket, Conner anxiously waited for Carissa to finally make it to the summit of the hike. After what seemed like an eternity, she arrived and Conner quickly asked a random passerby to take a picture of him and Carissa in front of the glacier. Unbeknownst to Carissa, Conner whispered in the photographer's ear that he was proposing and to not hesitate&nbsp;to&nbsp;take as many&nbsp;pictures as she could of the milestone moment. Conner walked back to Carissa, smiled for a picture and slyly said he had to tie his shoe and dropped down to one knee, ring in hand.&nbsp;

A Glacier and a Proposal

Sometimes failure can be a blessing in disguise. Conner and Carissa met in an Arizona State University geology class room in the spring of 2015. The Spring Semester was Conner's second attempt to ace a notoriously difficult&nbsp;course focused on tectonic plate shifting and metamorphic beach-ball diagrams. Fun right? A mutual friend who was tutoring Conner invited him to a Carissa's house to study in preparation for an upcoming exam. Suddenly, studying wasn't&nbsp;such a burden.&nbsp;

Right smack dab in the middle of downtown Fort Worth. It is a great spot to grab a casual&nbsp;bite or a beer&nbsp;and enjoy if the weather is nice. Make sure to walk around Sundance Square while you are over there!&nbsp;Some other downtown favorite spots to get a bite are Mi Cocina and Salsa Limon for a less expensive option.

Four Sisters - A Taste of Vietnam

This is right in Stockyard Station in Fort Worth. With longhorn&nbsp;cattle drives,&nbsp;&nbsp;men on horseback, and fun shops, this is a great place to&nbsp;get a taste of the old West! Make sure to give yourself some time to look around the Stockyards.&nbsp;Horseshoe Hill specializes in different kinds of chicken fried steak. Did you really go to Texas if you didn't eat chicken fried steak at least once?

Take a walk on the Trinity River in some good weather and find yourself at Woodshed Smokehouse. It is in the name, everything on the menu is smoked and the patio is always lively with live music,&nbsp;cute dogs, and yummy food.&nbsp;

If you are looking for drinks and fun right before the ceremony or after the reception is over, here are some places right next to the venue:&nbsp;Bearded Lady, Pouring Glory, Locust Cider, and Republic Street Bar.&nbsp;They are all within a mile of the venue!&nbsp;

Shipping And Receiving Bar

If you are wanting a family day, the Fort Worth Zoo is a fantastic place to go. They even have a Texas animals section of the zoo!&nbsp;

Of course there is shopping in downtown, but for more high-end restaurants and shopping, The Shops at Clearfork are the way to go. There are stores such as Kate Spade, Neiman Marcus, Untuckit, and Burberry. Some of our favorite restaurants in the area include Fixe and&nbsp;Malai Kitchen. There is also a place called Pinstripes for some pricey&nbsp;bowling.&nbsp;

If there is a game on you are interested in seeing and want to venture out of Fort Worth a little, head to Texas Live!&nbsp;It is a huge complex with about 500 TVs which are bound to be showing your game. If anything go because it is right next to Cowboys Stadium and the Ranger's Ballpark (RIP).&nbsp;

As many of you know, I am an ice cream connoisseur. Melt is arguably some of the best ice cream I have ever had. Stop by Magnolia ave and walk around, do some browsing-there is an adorable Fort Worth store there if you are needing any gifts- and please grab a scoop of their Salt Lick ice cream. Thank me later.&nbsp;
